$RIG............Simmons analysts see "one glaring catalyst" that likely explains Carl Icahn’s attraction to Transocean (RIG +1.7%): the prospect of extracting or accelerating a cash distribution yield out of RIG now that the Gulf spill overhang has been largely mitigated. RIG has ~$14B in debt and $6B in cash on the books, which the firm says offers ample flexibility to draw back to a targeted cash balance ~$1.5B after the DoJ settlement

$F....................... plans to unveil a concept version of the Lincoln MKC at the Detroit Auto Show today as it seeks to gain a foothold in the fast-growing "luxury crossover" market in the U.S. The MKC is also part of Ford's plan to revive the lackluster image of the Lincoln marque and reverse a 20-year decline in sales.

Thanks for the kind words. If the nation still possessed the "can do" spirit and self-reliance of Texas, we would all be better off.

$RIG................Tr... (RIG) management could be facing an attempt at a shake-up after Carl Icahn acquired a 1.56% stake in the rig operator and said he is looking to receive regulatory approval to acquire stock worth over $682.1M. That would give the activist investor a holding of just above 5% and turn him into one of Transocean's largest shareholders

No one paid the tax rates of the 50's as their were so many deductions. Get rid of the tax deductions (govt should not be picking winners and losers, Ex, renters vs homeowners) lower overall tax rates. Flat tax with first 25K - 50K exempt adjusted for inflation. Then attack the waste in govt, and yes that includes the defense dept. Drug test quarterly all welfare recipents, address the $60B in annual medicare fraud, put a P.I. on suspected disability frauds.....of course, then the left will realize just how many victims are committing fraud....not to mention kill their vast vote getting machine.

As for Obama...Tough to be beat a guy who is giving out free lunches......Romney won college grads by 8% to 10%, Obama won non High School grads by 60%....enough said.

Unfortunately with the expansion of govt benefits (welfare, food stamps, extension of jobless benefits for two years, etc.....)....you can make $10-$12 an hour sitting at home without the hassle of a job....which is why labor participation rate has dropped 3% in the last four years.....without this trend, unemployment would be around 10.5%.
