Apple Top Leads To Market Top As Predicted, So What's Next... An Epic Gold Entry Point [View article]
Today we see the first signs of the accuracy of my philosophy...
Gold price up 4.24% to $1,626 $66 today
AAPL down 2.57% to $562 $15 today
To the rest who only insist on talking their book in a caustic and aggressive manner I wish to say this... http://bit.ly/KElprW

I will be happy to pick this conversation up again in Jan.. I always love a good debate. But I must warn you, the Jan. discussion may be a trifle one sided.
You see, I am not an AAPL hater. I see many good qualities about AAPL and would be only too happy to own the stock. The problem is price at the moment. So when we get to Jan. I may be long the stock.
Please remember, in this post I am using AAPL and its market leadership position to gauge the health of the overall market.

However, I feel you are perhaps missing the point of my post in its entirety. All that you write while true and impressive does not offer any new insights. This info on PE and cash is known to every market participant. This is static analysis at its most destructive.
Preservation of principal is most important to building wealth and understanding market perception of the facts you describe is the game we are playing.
Please note my post uses AAPL as a guide to overall market direction. I am not long or short AAPL at this time.

Allow me to add that all forms of analysis are vulnerable to interpretation. We are discussing a bit of an art form here not a scientific formula. This is why all traders are not "independently wealthy"
I have found that protection of principal is the most important ingredient to attaining and maintaining "independent wealth" hence my cautionary view of AAPL at this juncture.

I own a stock to make money and I care most about protecting principal. Being "cool" never enters the equation.
I will not invest in GLD because I believe the underlining metal does not exist to back the shares, but the chart (for now) will suffice as a tool of analysis. For investment purposes I prefer PHYS
One could argue GLD broke 2008 uptrend you speak of back in Feb.-March. As you know technical analysis is a bit of an art form. Either way, I don't deny the possibility you suggest. I am merely highlighting the possibility that a double bottom may be forming (Dec. and May) which could set up a base for strong price action.
I am working on a precious metals Seeking Alpha post that will delve deeper into the fundamentals I believe are building to support said double bottom.

If all analysts agree AAPL can only go up then who is left to buy? Everyone is already all in and the next iphone or whatever may already be reflected in the price.
In any event I hope this post helps you go into the battle with eyes open.

Stalking The Bear: Trouble In Transports [View article]
Transports broke out to the upside yesterday on the back of analyst upgrades for the Rail group. They argue Rails are over sold on coal shipment declines. They expect better EPS numbers as other parts of the economy pick up are replace coal shipment declines.
So, for now transports are trying to confirm the bull rally. Let's keep a close eye and see if this is just a laggard group catching up at the end of a bull run or a real confirmation.
Stay tuned and watch for more 'Stalking the Bear' installments.
Trouble Brewing Behind Facade Of Bull Rally [View article]
Let us all know when you book your gains and then we will know who was right.
Please remember, 'Stalking the Bear' is about being aware of the hollowing out signs of the bull market. As the author, I have not written that the time to sell longs and go short has arrived. I have simply pointed out the obvious signs of weakness building while the bull charges higher i.e. http://seekingalpha.co....
Rest assured I will write when I feel the time has come to raise cash and short the market. My hope is that the 'Stalking the Bear' series will help you avoid the misery of the round trip.
Best of luck trading,
Bret
