I was a fund manager of European Equities for 10 years at Newton Investment Management in London. I recently founded StockViews.com, a social network that connects investors with analysts and encourages debate around individual stocks. I still keep my hand in the market and contribute both to StockViews and to Seeking Alpha. I also dedicate a large amount of my time to educating investors through StockViews Campus and via a mentorship program for university students. In the fall I will be touring a number of US universities to deliver a series of seminars on investing. You can find out more about me via my blog: http://blog.stockviews.com
I am a 'baby-boomer' accountant in the manufacturing sector in Cleveland Ohio. In earlier years, I purchased mainly mutual funds. More recently, I've been looking at individual company stocks. Recently, I took time off for a three-year 'adventure' as a high school math teacher. I am married and have 2 adult children.
I am the President and Portfolio Manager of Stellar Wealth Management, LLC. I'm a scientist and engineer by training, and hold multiple degrees in both engineering and physics, including a Ph.D. in particle physics. I am also a Certified Financial Planner and hold a Masters degree in Public Policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
I am a long time buy-and-hold investor from Cleveland, Ohio, with approximately 6 years investing experience.
I primarily target Value stocks, but on occasion am open to "growth at a reasonable price."
Ideally I prefer to invest in Mid-Cap stocks over large-cap or small-cap.
I believe the two best sectors to invest in during the next two decades will be Health Care for growth and Financials for value.
I tend to ignore the opinions of hedge-fund managers or so-called "experts"....rather, my investment philosophy values the opinion of simple minds that come from humble backgrounds.
I am always on a look-out for secular trends; I look for companies that benefit from aging baby boomers, rising interest rates, organic eating, and increased adoption of electronic payment systems.
I tend to pay more attention to a company's qualitative aspects rather than quantitative.

2. Opko Health (OPK)
3. Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B)
4. Markel Corp (MKL)
5. Canadian National Railway (CNI)

Proud father of four. Living the American Corporate dream where you can have 7 layoffs in 10 years and survive all of them. Look to invest in good companies that say something about me. Learning to be more patient, learn from my past mistakes. Learn from others and listen to my conscience a little more when it tell me to buy or sell because it is usually right! I am here to help others make money and share in this wealth.
A well rounded investor with a knack for what's coming and what will work. I have an interest in companies with disruptive technology and a variety of other niche players. I have proprietary methods of finding undervalued, and under-appreciated stocks with huge potential.
