Brett Owens began studying the commodities market closely in 2004, and opened a futures trading account with $2,000 in 2005. He promptly bought a sugar contract, and has been fascinated with the commodity bull market ever since.

Like many commodity traders, he dreams of pyramiding his gains into great riches. In 2006, he decided that he’d better setup a blog to record his trading history so that people would believe his rags to riches story, in the unlikely event it actually happened.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, he now lives with his wife and their weimaraner in Sacramento, CA. He still believes the Bills will one day win a Super Bowl.
