  • MannKind's Afrezza Likely To Fail AFFINITY 1 Phase III Trial [View article]
Don't worry I'll have a response and further details on my case, I just had other things to do than to craft individual replies to upset MNKD longs in the last two days

If you truly believe that MNKD is going to be a success, you shouldn't have anything to worry about so there's no need to get so emotional. Joe, I'll look at your comment soon

  • High Risk Trading With Dendreon [View article]
Nice overview, and I'm glad that you mention the "DNDN Debt Ball of Death" that other articles often fail to mention. Other points:

-I don't think DNDN is risky because it only relies on one product, other risks outweigh the heck out of that

-TV ads aren't necessarily a reason to be optimistic, this only adds to marketing expenses and may not add anything to rev from sales (if this move disappoints bears will have more ammunition against DNDN too)

-"Another reason to remain optimistic for Dendreon is its expected expansion to the European countries. The company expects that a regulatory decision will be made in Europe by mid-2013. Once approved, this is foreseen as a catalyst for the rebound from the current sliding share prices."

Yes, but they don't have a way to manufacture provenge there yet

-If anything, the notion of a guaranteed "rebound" makes it less probable IMO

but most importantly you actually looked at their balance sheet and saw all the convertible notes, which will help inform investors of the risk they're actually taking with DNDN common

West Syndrome and MS specifically, then more as described with the other conditions

Then 17 others by my count as described in 1.3 to 1.9 on the label

    It's very useful

Michael, do you think QCOR is expensive based on Acthar's performance in the market and implied sales figures for next quarter?

oh yeah, the link I just posted is another note I wrote on QCOR. Stock moved up ~10% higher after, but crashed and drifted to current level

I'm sure the technical analysis guys see bearish flags everywhere, but I don't really do that stuff

    Thanks Ben

I think 40 is a pretty good price to aim for, although I've gotten some feedback that says it's too low. I'll stick with 40 even though I'm not a fan of price targets to begin with

the dividend is going to hurt shorts quite a bit over time, so if we see covering this could go quite high. Timing it is hard though, IMO buy it only if you like Acthar

No - technically don't own the stock yet, but if it stays here I'll have a portion of the trade at 29. Was bullish on QCOR 50% ago though if you look back to Sept/Oct

exclusivity until 2017, investigation less certain but more likely bogus

Fusilev's challenges are more than priced in at this point. SPPI is bargain bin, I'm still not technically long that stock either

  • New Battleground Emerges For Dendreon Bulls And Bears [View article]
No, this was not written for pay. It appeared on Bio-Wire a day earlier and I put it here as well to spread the news about Dendreon's efforts to increase Provenge sales through TV spots. In the article, I implied that they're not going to work. I can't back up that statement with any facts, so I kept it impartial.

If you read my other articles you'll know that I have been, and continue to be bearish on the stock though

I should have added more detail to my comment. Basically, I agree completely with McBride on this one. I think the ads invoke a pretty good emotional reaction though, so they're "tastefully" done

he's right, I don't think they'll make anything off of the H7N9 outbreak but I think that the event is a very real reminder of the rapidity of influenza outbreaks. The more treatments the better

I wouldn't say this about antidepressants or Viagra because they are completely different from provenge - virtual opposites

the P3 was not structured well, doubt peramivir arm could outperform other arm with same mechanism of action. Still, agree that it's a long shot.

FDA has political incentive to approve

sales numbers will be a fraction of tamiflu, but they will be making much much more money per treatment

  • Dendreon's Provenge Ads: Are They Working? [View article]
It's a good commercial, and the drug sounds very interesting since it talks about using "your own body to fight back" again prostate cancer. I'd google it too

Not sure if this will get TRx to where it needs to be, but I remain skeptical
