  • Buffett Style Valuation Of The Microsoft Corporation [View article]
    Microsoft created Windows 8
It's pretty hard to buy a new computer that doesn't have it, but I went out of my way to get one yesterday. Worst operating system since Vista, literally a downgrade from windows 7

They are trying too hard to become what Apple was a few years ago, throwing plenty of people under the bus (basically everyone with a non-touch monitor)

That's what happens when you lose touch with reality (as they've clearly done)

Can't point to any main reason at the moment, but biotech was weak in general last few trading session and some additional research may have been released that led to some selling (or someone just wanted to sell)

  • Amazon: A Price Target Of $147 Per Share In... 2019 [View article]
"Amazon has tapped a clear comparative advantage. Into new products such as cloud and online advertising it has serious competitors. "

true, but google is becoming increasingly intolerable as an advertising partner and amazon's success in cloud services was a good indicator of its innovative capacity. competitors in cloud that focus exclusively on cloud have fallen short

  • 4 Reasons To Buy Occidental Petroleum [View article]
I liked OXY a lot about a year ago, was wrong, taking a look again. Thanks for the overview, but

"S&P has a Buy rating on the stock (4 out of 5 stars) and a 12 month price target of $100.00 per share."

hardly a reason to be bullish in my book

    Thanks for the detailed article

I sold some puts that are still out of the money, doubt it could get too much worse

SPPI might look a lot more compelling as a regular holding if they clean the crap out of management and remove the legal overhang. Not as worried about Fusilev as lots of others

  • Why Amarin Is Struggling So Much [View article]
The patent protection would be nicer if Amarin was a big pharma that could successfully launch into the ANCHOR indication, but the issue is that we need a partnership or buyout

  • Why Amarin Is Struggling So Much [View article]
The thing that bothers me is that there is a data argument for Vascepa over Lovaza for MARINE, although Vascepa's launch (which is high profile and "well known" to primary care physicians) impies to me that small pharmas can't do launches for huge indications like MARINE
