Brooks McFeely is the founder and president of MidnightTrader, Inc., the leading provider of US equity pre-market and after-hours trading news and analysis to both the retail and institutional investment community.

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, McFeely started his investment career while serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower, and while there earned his degree as a certified financial planner (CFP), along with getting several NASD securities brokerage licenses. He subsequently started a "financial planning service at sea," able to help his 5,500 shipmates invest their money wisely. He became the ship's "Command Financial Specialist," teaching a course to new recruits on money management and helping many shipmates, from junior seaman to senior officers, invest their money.

Toward the end of his Naval service, McFeely took an interest in extended-hours trading. Understanding that the most significant market moving corporate news is announced after the close of regular market hours, he noticed that there were no news or data providers that focused on ECNs and extended-hours trading. McFeely saw an opportunity to fill the information gap, and this was the inspiration behind the creation of MidnightTrader.
