  • Why Verizon And AT&T Are Sells [View article]
Most towers are not owned by the carriers. Crown Castle, American Tower, and SBA Communications are the 3 leading U.S. tower owners - see this link:

These companies lease to the best bidder - as they see it - and cram as many radios as possible on their towers. I'm sure the lease negotiations are complicated.

  • Why Now Is The Time To Be Bullish [View article]
    Social, TTurk, Contrarian, others...

Here is (very) short synopsis of why I am bullish: Money -- and they are printing more of it all the time -- has to go somewhere. If it flees Europe, Japan, (and now possibly bonds) that leaves Quality International Companies and precious metals (now that they are down) as two of the few quality assets still available.

The article shows how you don't have to be a stock picker to benefit.

  • Why Now Is The Time To Be Bullish [View article]
Contrarian... I believe the current pullback will only be a correction. 10 year Treasury yields may indeed fall back some but I think it is unlikely they will fall back below 2%. The turning point was reached last July when yields fell to 1.39%.

It is interesting to note that today, with Dow down almost 200 pts (as I pen this) treasuries are continuing to fall -- a sign they are beginning to lose their "safe haven" status.

I do agree the US dollar will rise short term.

Thanks to you I profited on Surge (just sold). Any thoughts on Pinecrest Energy (PNCFG.PK)? I have a small position -- currently at a loss.

It seems to have potential and a great balance sheet.

  • Coeur d'Alene: Reducing Debt And Gaining Strength [View article]
Coeur d'Alene is a great company. The problem, however, is silver and gold are currently in a strong downtrend. Wait till silver is below $24 before buying.

What are your latest thoughts on Second Wave Petroleum (SCSZF)? Stock has really hit skids and some on Yahoo Message board think it will go to zero.

  • Fracking, Climate Change And What Gets Lost In The Shuffle [View article]
    Carl M.

Here are 2 facts for you:

1.CO2 is a green house gas (traps heat)
2.The burning of fossil fuels releases a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere

No scientists that I know disputes either of the above

So ,,, it is only logical to at least suspect that fossil fuel burning contributes to a warming earth (as evidenced by the melting of glaciers and arctic ice).
