Agreed. The problem that i'm having with Apple these days is not the talent that still exists in the company...its management's ability to leverage that talent.

I actually do think Jobs was exceptional human being and that Tim Cook is not in his league...no insult to Tim but Apple is currently valued based on Jobs performance and not Tim Cooks.

Thanks for reminding me Mike...I worked through that bubble...I still have equity from startup bubble companies that have gone under. ;-)

The volatility will cause a pricing issue for most merchants though...right? They will want to peg value to their local currency which means that the price in bitcoins will change dramatically from time to time. Hosting companies taking Bitcoin for payment would have vastly different prices from month to month...

Who would Google or Microsoft buy out exactly to "crush the Bitcoin competitor"?

They make them high end luxury products for geeks. My macbook makes other devs drool...thats why i think it would be exceptionally bad if they start offering low-end low-margin products...

Agreed. Its a critical feature for users...complexity and difficulty for developers will show up over the long term in the App Store revenue stream.

I hope so Rubber Duck...i'm thinking we have another cycle ahead with the product announcement in the fall. Cook's idea of amazing is different than Jobs'...the market is expecting Jobs' style amazing and they simply won't get it.

I doubt it...Google Glass are still too early...its still research...public research but research all the same. Still, they have a coolness factor sort of like concept cars...if you buy them, expect to be an early adopter, they'll be expensive, frustrating and cooler than all get out but will likely still be an expensive toy for a while.

Every product that GOOG produces ties into their revenue generation business in some way. Search, voice search, android especially...free apps place AdMob ads (owned by Google) in their apps, paid apps generate direct revenue to the Google play store. You don't think you'll be walking along with your Google "Glass"es and have ads popping up? Or promotional augmented reality? Imagine walking along and the restaurant you are passing is advertising a 2 for 1 lunch...even the free apps in the Apple App Store generate revenue for Google...

Everytime you see a Google product, ask yourself how it relates and feeds into the other products...when you get a chance, take a look at the revenue per user...this includes mobile users. Google is doing just fine with focus.
