  • Rocky Mountain Is A Chocolate Covered Growth Stock [View article]
It wont be the same growth going forward since the company will be opening more stores annually than in past years.

The company could more than double its store count over the next 10 years. In Japan alone they are opening 100 stores. They will also continue opening 5 to 10 stores domestically every year. If the test store in China is successful, this company has the potential to more than double its current store count over the next decade. You really cannot use the past growth rates to predict the future with this company, because the company will be opening more stores annually than in the past.

Yes, the Middle East deal never worked out for some reason. However, the Asian expansion seems to be going in the right direction. It will be interesting to see how the test store performs in China. If it is as successful as the one in Japan, I think they could open up a few hundred stores there.

This is such a simple law, I don't understand the 6 years of delays. This is ridiculous!

  • Trina Solar: As Debts Come Due, $14 Billion In Off-Balance Sheet Liabilities [View article]
I agree that the market is not efficient. However, why would there be more billionaires if it was efficient? Seems to me, at least in theory, that if the markets were efficient it would be even harder to make money. "There is no free lunch," at least according to the academics. Again, I agree that the markets are not efficient (at least in the short-term).

The truth is that these extremely capital intensive companies have trouble earning a profit even when the economy is doing well. I know of no companies in these industries that has been very profitable over the LONG-RUN. Not a single one! This is just a very tough business to be in.

If you add up the earnings of all the airlines and car makers over the last century you will be in the red. That is a quote from Warren E. Buffett. Are you saying that Mr. Buffett is an idiot and doesn't know what he is talking about? When you have an investment record as good as his then you can talk!

Yes, I agree solar is the future, but investing in these companies is not a good idea. Remember that a century ago cars and planes were considered the future, and they have never been good investments. Solar companies are very capital intensive, they will never be very profitable and will always have a ton of debt. These businesses are necessary for our society, however, they are terrible long-term investments and will always be. The intelligent investor would be wise to stay far away from them.

  • Don't Bet Against DreamWorks Animation [View article]
Have you seen the trailer for The Croods? The animation is top notch! The story is new and unique. This film could be one of the top grossing of 2013, in my opinion.

You said there is no advertising yet, but the film is getting released in March. You should begin seeing more advertising in a few weeks.

You said that moms wont take their kids to see the film because it might have "crude humor." Or at least you say that the title is very suggestive that this will be the case. Most moms know what kind of films DreamWorks makes so I don't think this will be a problem.

I know that, I was waiting for someone to mention it. It is true, Berkshire is one of the few successful RTOs.

I was talking about Chinese small cap RTOs. Every single Chinese RTO that I know of has been in trouble with the SEC. Every single one! I can list at least 100 companies right now if you need me to. You cannot deny that there is something shady going on here with so many companies getting accused of fraud.

People who just focus on things like balance sheet and income statement will pass up a wonderful business such as this. You really must analyze every aspect about a company to truly understand it. DreamWorks has huge growth potential in the near future and early investors will be rewarded. DreamWorks is like a younger version of Disney if you really think about it.

A couple years ago I remember Harbin Electric (another Chinese fraud) got taken private. The truth is that it is not very difficult to take a company private, especially a fraudulent Chinese reverse merger. I have no short position in this stock, and I honestly hope that investors make money on their investment. However, you cannot deny the fact that 99.9% of Chinese reverse mergers have gotten into trouble with the SEC.

Trust me there is a reason why all of these small Chinese companies go public though reverse mergers. It is much easier and you can escape a lot of the paperwork required of companies that go public through the normal process. That alone should be a huge red flag!

I think I say in there somewhere that its a sequel to the first. However, you are right, it should say How to Train Your Dragon part 2.
