  • Green Mountain Coffee Roasters' Growing Inventory Levels - Is It A Fumble Or A Fraud? [View article]
If one educates themselves on the history of SEC investigations, you will find many of them occur with no information or conclusion every reached at any time.

My only suggestion is to be cognizant of the old saying, "beware of those bearing gifts!"

If you appreciate all input and information you can gather, it seems like you would be thanking the other, not criticizing him.

I wouldn't get too excited about the SEC not being able to prove something.

A better recommendation would be that when you invest in a company in another country, know what you are investing in.

I prefer to deal with facts, rather than bias. I did my own work. EDU is an obvious fraud. EDU started as thieves stealing the US standardized tests, were sued by the ETS in china and lost. EDU continued their theiving ways by continuing to steal from others. They basically were broke when they met up with Chase Coleman (who is reportedly out of the stock, although "tiger development" owns shares and is possibly associated with him). Next thing this failed dog of a company was being promoted on the US exchanges, and reportedly year after year of great, albeit phony, results, and the stock price driven up. Michael Yu needs to learn English before he can be a 'great" English teacher. He needs to actually own shares, before he can be declared rich because of his shares. The whole company is nothing but a bad joke.

I recommend to everyone that they not rely on Muddy Waters, but figure it out themselves. If they do, it will be clear that EDU is an obvious fraud.

the owner is not rich. all of his wealth is supposed to be in the shares that he is considered a beneficial owner of under u.s. law. the problem is that edu reports that the owner owns no shares and expressly disclaims any beneficial ownership.
Also, the founder, Michael Yu, is supposed to have led EDU to great heights because he is supposedly a great english teacher. meanwhile, his own english is very bad, casting doubt that he could teach when he cannot do himself.
An examination of the business model makes it very obvious that this is a fraud. If you can't figure it out from that, then an examination of all the sec filings makes it very obvious.

  • Buyer Beware Of Variable Interest Entity Structures [View article]
actually the shares are owned by a company called tigerstep development, a company with a p.o. box in the british virgin islands for an address, and EDU reports that Michael Yu's illiterate, peasant mother owns tigersteop development. Interestingly, Chase Coleman's fund Tiger Global is one that pumped up EDU. What a coincidence tiger is in both names. Tigerstep Development was also in on the purchase of an auto company with Coleman's Tigerstep. Anyone think maybe Coleman and/or his fund or affiliates are the real owners of Tigerstep? Anyone think those shares are used to manipulate the price of the stock?

Yes, there is a doubt. EDU is a lousy company and there is no chance it makes anywhere near the money it claims. Most likely it loses money.

As long as you fully hedge, you guarantee a loss. the second issue is the sustainability of the dividends, which you leave largely unaddressed.

  • PWC Zhong Tian: A Chinese Auditor With A Flawless Record [View article]
    Adam:

Not bad, down only 47% since you wrote the article (from $4/sh to $2.12/sh.) They know trade on the OTC markets (been delisted) and their symbol is CMEDQ. I guess they won't need PWC for the auditor anymore and you will continue to claim that PWC has a clean record. hahaha!

I love your quote, "I have been to their seminars in Hong Kong, and it is like a party inside the room, with many people sharing their success stories". I have yet to hear a story like that and have the people throwing the seminars not be frauds.

you might want to dig a little deeper than reading a few lines from Whitman's bio. If you do, you will see what a poor job she did. Think a little bit, and tell me why the quote you provided does not indicate one way or another whether or not Meg Whitman did a good job? (hint: your quote mentions revenue, it doesn't mention profit).
