  • Yelp: A Deal Won't Happen [View article]
    No deal imminently:
PCLN Just bought a YELP proxy in the form of OpenTable
YHOO Board won't approve, need to prove they can make existing acquisitions work
GOOG Just bought a YELP proxy in the form of Zagat
FB Starting building a local review business last year, gaining traction
GRUB Best fit, but no ability for financing given limited cash flow and equal size

  • Lending Club: Stretched Value Mutes Strong Q1 Results [View article]
Sorry but to say LCs scale and IP doesn't create a massive barrier is foolish. As a lender, why would I choose a scrappy competitor which would require me endless months to put dollars to work on only the most choice of loans. With LC I was able to purpose significant capital quickly - because they have THE scale. Also who do you think has the deeper pockets to buy borrowers? As for the stock, I agree more downside, but this doesn't mean I'm not buying more with each correction.

June $41 puts? Smells like the unsubstantiated run up and reversal we saw with BlackBerry in Jan.

  • Take Profits In Twitter Ahead Of First-Quarter Earnings, Buy At $46 [View article]
This is the same company but a different stock from Q4. Sentiment has changed drastically with TWTR trading on volume above its 50 and 200 DMA. For us to drop within 2% of the 200 DMA would inflict massive technical damage resulting from only an absolutely horrible quarter. Ask yourself why would all of that positive moment evaporate from Q1? It wont, Twitter will perform well on key metrics and the market will be more focused on product iterations, the Google partnership and engagment in video, which is very much in focus.

  • FMC Technologies - Brace Yourself For An Ugly Quarter [View article]
I suppose this is why the stock is at a five year low? Shorting into support based on existing circumstances seems unwise, especially given the recent strength in oil.
