Thankless Thursday: Still Waiting For That Stimulus To Kick In [View article]
I shall point to a link from NOAA to provide some food for thought, and it covers major hurricanes between 1851 and 2011.
http://1.usa.gov/VFY7DE
The other link refers to ACE -- "Accumulated Cyclone Energy - An index that combines the numbers of systems, how long they existed and how intense they became. It is calculated by squaring the maximum sustained surface wind in the system every six hours and summing it up for the season."
http://1.usa.gov/Szo1ui
You'll see that the maximum kind of repeats itself every 50 years or so.
If one looks at hurricanes (http://1.usa.gov/VFY5f5) and named storms (http://1.usa.gov/Szo1uq) a spike is apparent over the last 5 years or so, and it is declining and reaching for the average.
But to take 100 years of data, never mind 5 years, and draw a conclusion about a planet that has been around for millions of years, is complete silliness at its best

Phil knows that, but he's just being Phil and practicing for his next job with MSNBC. Or maybe I'm giving him too much credit and he doesn't understand it.

Although I am far removed from the political scene, I of all people don't need some documentary about media manipulation provided by someone living in New Jersey that never tasted the dirt of Pennsylvania avenue first hand. And if the video link indicated by you is the evidence you need, you certainly have no clue of what's going on in DC, and propaganda from both sides only scratches the surface. At one point I "interfaced" with Ed Rollins (Reagan) and Hamilton Jordan (Carter), and if you think that what you see is what you get, you're as uniformed and naive as they come, just like Ross Perot was.
News suppression is also propaganda, regardless of who's doing it. Lastly, because I'm certain you wouldn't know, political operatives are mercenaries, and at times the purse dictates loyalty. The only question about Benghazi is whether it is a Nixon moment, or did the tracks get covered and tapes erased. On that point, Obama is not Clinton. Welcome to the real world of politics.

If it happened under Bush I would want to know as well.

Now there are news and opinion shows on Foxnews, MSNBC, etc., and although opinion shows do advance their respective agendas, the news side is pretty much solid, except when they choose to skip coverage because it's not convenient to their side. But to claim that fabrication takes place only shows the ignorance that abounds, although at times video clips are edited in funny ways, if you know what I mean.
What is sad is that journalism as defined by the dictionary is hard to find to the detriment of the public. I used to work with the art director of the Washington Post in the 90s and once he asked me if I knew how journalists could afford expensive suits. Then he proceeded to highlight how many of them are in bed with politicians so stories can be fed as needed.

IMHO the market may drop big time mostly due to a perception of Romney winning, leading to a stronger dollar.
