Thank you sweeps63. Like I mentioned, this article format is something of an experiment, but I think it is something I will continue to do. By the way, I used to live in Doha when I was a teenager. They would have KFC, McDonald's, A&W all crammed into one place. We all called it "Cholestorol Corner."

    Thanks Gene,
This article format is new for me. I'm trying to make my articles more straightforward and systematic. I'm looking at feedback, new followers per article and hits to determine whether this is a worthwhile format.

The normal P/E represents what it has traded at for the last fifteen years. I probably should have explained that...

Thanks for the thought-provoking comment, tallguyz. The way you put it does make sense. My visceral reaction is to cringe at companies taking out debt to buy back stock unless it is really cheap.

  • Use Linn Energy To Build Income Now [View article]
    Hi Hewitt,

I tend to look more at market cap, which is $8.39 billion. Enterprise value adds debt and subtracts cash. Not sure how I feel about that...

Also, the PV-10 doesn't account for Linn's unproven reserves. Off the top of my head, I believe Linn has just as much unproven, estimated reserves as they do proven. If a lot of that goes to proven over time, and I believe it will, Linn doesn't look quite as expensive.

  • Are You Holding Overvalued Stocks And Wondering If It's Time To Sell? [View article]
Great read as always Bob. I've also been thinking of adding some Air Products. Also recently added ConocoPhillips and Linn Energy.

I've used the high prices to offload some of the investments that didn't work out for me: namely Excelon and Intel. Mr. Market has brought them back up to where I could get out with no loss. For that I am thankful...

Thanks elliot, I'll probably have to submit a correction on that one. If so I guess I fell for that misconception myself.

I believe so. Of all the upstream MLPs, Linn is arguably the most conservative and has the safest cashflow and seems to pick up the best acquisition. I'd take that side of the coin anytime.
