My apologies...the $6.72 figure is actually for May 2012, not May 2011. It was supposed to represent the huge growth BAC has seen over the last year.

However, I have submitted a correction to reflect the all-time low in 2009.

  • The Best Way To Invest In The Smartphone And Tablet Wars [View article]
The hope, and expectation for many, is that Gorilla Glass and other specialty products can grow over time. Today, GLW reported earnings, and while earnings were way down, the Specialty Materials segment reported a 21% year-over-year increase, driven by Gorilla Glass. At the same time, the Display segment had a 6% year-over-year decline.

-Corning $521 million of profit, or 35 cents a share, a decrease from from $811 million, or 51 cents a share, a year ago

-CEO Wendell P. Weeks said the following: "Our display technologies segment continued to stabilize its earnings with another quarter of moderate LCD glass price declines...However, weakening global economic conditions worked against our sales results in telecommunications and environmental technologies."

-Many analysts were expecting a profit of 32 cents a share

-So far, GLW is down about 10% after hours

  • 2 International Telecoms With Growth And Dividends [View article]
Telecoms are known for their dividends in general, and constant cash flows and consistent revenues help this. However, it's noteworthy that FTE is near a 52 week low, which makes the yield higher, as the dividends have remained fairly constant. They have now come off this 52 week low (about 15% off the bottom), and this makes it seem like they may be starting to recover, with a lot of potential upside.

The dividend has been paid twice/year since 2008, and once/year before that. Here is more information on the FTE dividend history:
