Jonathan Cooley is Managing Partner of Advantage Partners USA & ASIA focusing on Strategic Consulting Advisory services, Capital, and M&A between the U.S.and China. Advantage Partners Private Equity Group focuses on mid-market companies ($5-$200 mm) marketing or manufacturing in China that require capital and management resources to maximize their growth potential. Mr. Cooley has served as CEO, CFO and a Board member at a number of companies.
Mr. Cooley has completed over $1 billion of structured debt, equity and M&A transactions. Jonathan led manufacturing initiatives in Shanghai, Ningbo and Guangdong, China. He has been a Partner in two investment banking firms managing four Special Purpose Funds investing in middle market companies. He has managed several successful projects installing the first MegaWatt of Photovoltaic Solar power in the United States and creating the popular “wine-in-a-box” for Almaden, Cribari and Franzia wineries. He also was the Public Finance Advisor to Orange County and San Bernardino County in California.
Mr. Cooley has traveled and worked throughout China since 1995. He was an Associate Professor of Strategy in Pepperdine’s MBA program and has been a guest professor at UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, CalPoly, Concordia University, and USC. He has taught the practicum China Business Program at Concordia University for the past several years, taking a consulting team to China many projects.
Mr. Cooley is a PhD candidate and contributing author of industry articles, trade journals and the Controller’s Manual by Wiley and Sons. He attended the United States Air Force Academy, holds a B.S. from University of Cincinnati and an MBA in Finance from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
