And since there are free legal contents on Youku-like websites, people are generally less interested on pirated DVDs. In addition, we can observe that the Chinese box office is on a rise. Last year, total box office in China exceeded 10 Bn RMB, which made China the second largest movie market next to US. All these factors make illegal contents less attractive not to mention that Chinese government is still devoting time and energy to punish illegal pirating activities.
