Thomas Lynch received a B.S. Degree in Chemistry from Wheeling College in 1968. For two years he worked at the Sloan-Kettering Institute for Cancer Research, Rye, N.Y. In 1975 he received his Ph.D. in Bacteriology for membrane structure and function, mainly lipid and protein biochemical research, from the University of Connecticut. For six years he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the former Cancer Research Unit, connected with the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta. He has previously served as a Forensic Chemist with the U.S. Department of Justice, Washington, D.C. He has been retired since 2001.
