I am a CFA Charterholder with 5 years of equity research experience and an MBA from Indiana University. I specialize in finding undervalued investment opportunities that offer an attractive return and margin of safety through deep fundamental analysis and valuation. Often I look for companies that the market does not understand or has otherwise dismissed because of a consensus theme that I believe incorrect. I also seek out special situations in which an upcoming catalyst can add value for shareholders. I believe the macro environment is an important backdrop for any investment and, unlike some value investors, I consider the economic context in which companies operate as part of my analysis. Although my background includes time specializing in the homebuilders and building products companies, I consider myself a generalist and look for attractive investments across all sectors.
Thomas is a JD candidate at the Wake Forest University School of Law, and a cross-boarder M&A intern at King & Wood Mallesons. He has plans on attending business school upon graduation with a focus in finance. Thomas began investing in 2010 after being referred to the book Rich Dad Poor Dad and has become consumed ever since. Thomas has an investment strategy that focuses on in depth coverage of few companies showing promise of long term growth. Thomas is still very young and has a tendency to be more risk tolerant than other investors.
Starting out Thomas struggled with learning basic concepts of the market, and made some poor decisions from his lack of experience. However, Thomas is beginning to find investment success after settling into aggressive, but diversified, value based approach. Thomas spends extensive amounts of time researching individual stocks before he opens a new position. This research includes factors such as: sector growth, globalization, management teams, products in the pipeline, fundamental base, equitable capital, and many more.

Born and raised in the USA, graduated with a degree in Finance then worked at a multi-strategy global hedge fund for about 4 years analyzing stocks all over the world. In 2007 I left the USA and moved to China to study Chinese and start a business. Now, I am the CEO and Co-founder of eFin which provides wall street level research to main street investors via a proprietary algorithm. Our eFin scoe that takes into consideration hundreds of factors to provide the best period of time to make an investment in a stock.
Nevertheless, my experience working at the hedge fund and running my own business has improved vastly my investment making decisions. I believe Warren Buffett said it best “I am a better investor because I am a businessman and a better businessman because I am an investor”. I have had my share of busts and winners and have gotten wise enough to always look at both sides of every investment no matter how negative or optimistic the situation is.
