  • Why Tegra 4 Still Makes Nvidia A Bullish Play [View article]
    INTC P/S 1.98
    NVDA P/S 1.84
    QCOM P/S 5.81
    ARMH P/S 21.83

The market values (QCOM) and (ARMH) in a way that it rewards its "moat" in mobile. SHould Intel, NVDA break this, the P/S values could be reversed. QCOM has a market cap that higher than Intel's!

  • 3D printer makers Stratasys (SSYS +4.4%) and 3D Systems (DDD +4.2%) are closing the week with solid gains, even though JPMorgan launched coverage on Stratasys with a Neutral and $86.50 PT. Nokia's 3D printing announcement could be stoking investor enthusiasm ... or we might just be seeing some end-of-the-week short-covering. 42.1% of 3D's float, and 9.1% of Stratasys' float, was shorted as of Dec. 31. [View news story]
It could be that (DDD) is targeting the consumer market. (SSYS) has the manufacturing, which fluctuates less.

  • Setting An Investment Strategy For 2013 With These Ideas [View article]
Both Vivendi and (LINTA) are content plays. Content will play an increasingly important role over the next few years. Vivendi's sale of (ATVI) is still a story in waiting.

We don't have a seat in the executive board room, so who knows if Vivendi will split. The talk of splitting the company suggests Vivendi remains very undervalued.

The virtual portfolio is like a watch list for planning out and following practice or real investments. It is not a mirror of real-money investments (covestor). The portfolio is used to test and track ideas first, before any real investment is made.

The difference between the practice portfolio and the watch list, is that the watch list may be shared amongst a community of other users. The site also tracks "buy/sell" transactions in a practice environment (real-trading is also offered).

The charts were generated on kapitall.com. The support staff is very responsive, so I will message them to label icons with company name when N/A value is used. The company bars are in this order (as described in the text). The order is:

SunPower, First Solar, Yingli, Trina, and LDK Solar:

"Research in Motion (RIMM) turned out to be a stock to avoid prior to December 14, ahead of the quarterly earnings report on December 20, 2012." <--This is in reference to investors buying RIM starting December 1, when shares were between $12 - $14. Shares closed at $11.87, up 0.68% when the Nasdaq was up 2% that day.

  • 3D-Printing: Hype Or Promise? [View article]
It could very well be another explosive bubble, just like solar, biotech, y2k. The call to pick up (DDD) or 3D on a dip may not happen (given today's price action, up from $45 to $51 this week).

Investors tend to overshoot their enthusiasm. Add greed and stock pumpers and everyone will overlook $2000+ printers.
