  • 7 European Stocks That Could Double Your Money [View article]
Nice article. I can say I've owned all of them for quite a while besides TOT. I feel like ING and BCS are great deals but not at these elevated prices? I'm waiting for a pull back on all of them before entering in again.

How do you feel about MT? And also about BNP, Credit Agricole and Societe Generale?

Yes, $3 is about where I would be comfortable entering back in. Thanks for the comment.

  • Peabody Energy: Poised to Gain From Increased Coal Demand [View article]
Are you saying that due to Gillard's proposed carbon tax, American companies (mined and exported from America) will fare better and start to export more? If so, I cannot see that being very likely. Only about 5% of the coal extracted in the United States is exported. I would imagine that there would be serious headway to clear in Congress and with the E.P.A. for American coal companies to ramp up production in the U.S. for exporting. Coal companies are already under enough pressure in the U.S., and the coal they're mining is going towards American energy. It would be a hard sell in Congress to ramp up production solely for export. JMHO though.

Thanks for the comment. BTU is also in the running for one of the largest known reserves in Mongolia. If they are able to secure it, the chance for them to benefit from increased demand in SE Asia greatly increases.

Reuters is reporting NBG will sell off a 20% stake in its Finansbank holding and that they will also group all SE Europe units under one umbrella.

I don't see the impact being all that significant. Coal prices in Australia are rising faster than coal is being mined; I would assume that coal companies could absorb such a tax. But then again the coal lobby is very powerful with a lot of money backing them, they are major contributors to the Australian economy. The tax on carbon is probably inevitable IMO.

Yes, you are correct that management has done a great job. They have been very responsible in their lending.

In the event of a "restructuring", I would assume NBG would sell off any assets abroad first. Finansbank, with a market capitalization of $6.4 billion, SE Europe operations (I would assume worth much less) and the dividends on all NBGpA shares would go as well.

I think CCJ is a great play in uranium. They are oversold and beat down, yet demand will continue to rise. A nice read on it below:

BTU looks like a great buy with its recent price. It should do well in the long run.

  • Is the National Bank of Greece Worth the Risk? [View article]
NBG will be fine in the long run. Finansbank is growing at a great pace and the stock appears to be way undervalued. Taking into Finansbank, other SE operations and that in Greece, the stock is worth at least $2.50-3.

check it out a nice write up on it here:
