I started and led a consumer products oriented consulting firm for 20 years. We consulted with many of the premier companies including KO, JNJ, SJM, CL, BMY, G, MMM, GIS, MO, etc. After selling the business I wrote a book on investing in Great Companies and started an investment firm that managed three mutual funds with AUM of $1.4 billion using the principles outlined in the book that I wrote. The largest fund outperformed the S&P 500 during the five years that I managed the fund.
After selling the funds I have been involved in various ventures including investment management, a country music channel, and purchasing consumer debt.
Interested in technology and financial markets. Undergrad in engineering, MS in Comp Sci and an MBA in finance. Building tools for individual investors to make more informed decisions about the stocks and mutual funds they choose.

I founded Sustainable Wealth Management, Ltd (SWM) in 2005 to develop indexes that would enable investors to capitalize on the opportunities in the North American energy sector.
SWM claimed its first success with the development of our Sustainable Oil Sands Sector Index® , which gained investor attention in 2006 as the index underlying the Claymore Oil Sands Sector ETF, now known as the iShares Oil Sands Fund (TSE: CLO).
In March, 2007, I presented my views on Canada’s oil sands to German and Swiss investors in a combined book tour (Zukunft Olsand) and ABN AMRO (now RBS) Oil Sands investment certificate launch.
In July, 2007, SWM licensed the Sustainable Canadian Energy Income Index® to the Claymore Canadian Energy Income ETF, now known as the Guggenheim Canadian Energy Income ETF (NYSE: ENY), which has grown to become SWM’s largest success to date.
In June, 2012 I sponsor the development and launch of the Sustainable North American Oil Sands ETF (NYSE: SNDS), which is the first U.S.-listed ETF to focused on the development of Canada’s oil sands by investing in a fully diversified list of global energy companies with significant oil sands operations.
My commentary and index statistics appears regularly in Oilsands Review and I authored the 2006 book, The Canadian Oil Sands Investors Guide. I have earned the Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Planner, and Chartered Investment Manager professional designations and serve as a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, one of Canada’s highest credentials for financial professionals.

I'm an elderly retired geotechnical engineer, pursuing a hobby of swing trading in my Roth and IRA accounts. I don't take large positions in order to limit losses, selling as soon as I see $200-300 net gain, regardless of higher potential. I studiously avoid any greed tendency and am quite content with only the satisfaction of attaining my net goals. I have averaged a net gain of about $1000 a month over the last two years, which is quite satisfactory as I have minimal need of more ( but it would be nice!). The only judgement errors of significance have been some numerous holdings of mining stocks that I bought in the mistaken anticipation of inflation increase, which I am sure will be here soon.
