No allocate 10-20% at most. Trade if you feel comfortable with the paper instruments.

Completely agree. Though I will add that a lot of the investment banks have huge short positions in gold and silver.

Agree. Id add that long-term holders should be adding a bit on the weakness, particularly adding to silver.

All of this printing will lead to inflation. May not be today, may not be tomorrow...but it will come.

Excellent comment Moon. Completely agree that Cyrpus should keep its gold (they have something like 40 tons if I remember but dont quote me on that). The US...I dont trust a word they say. One reason I advocated OWNING physical metals in part of your portfolio.

DVW. I agree, mostly. Im a fundamentalist. I do believe that charts can predict short-term moves however. The selling Friday WAS started by fundamentals, but the technicals DID in fact cause sell stops. Im a long-termer myself, a cursory glance at my articles will show that, but we cannot completely ignore the price action and money flow.

Well I would consider demand from emerging markets to be good for gold prices. One market that we get varying reports on is India. Some reports suggest demand has slowed, while others say it has increased. I think it has slowed personally, and thus this may not "hurt prices" but removes a level of buying support that could help stabilize prices. The stronger dollar has been a large driver though, as has the perceived strong US economy led big money to dump gold in favor of equities, for now.

I like SLW long term. I doubt Pascua-Lama will be written off. The Mongolia issue was priced in the second the deal was struck, as the stock tanked 15% on the news. Im not worried about it.

The stock price is equally as vulnerable short-term, but whereas the miners have to spend 700, 800, 1200 to produce the gold, SAND has already made payments and thus gets to sell the gold the streamed at market price, so they still have a profit margin. Obviously this selloff in gold is damaging. I do believe it is short-term. As I see the negativity grow, I am MORE confident adding to my LONG-term positions on the way down. remember. PYRAMID in. Example: 100 shares at 10 bux, 200 at 9 bux, 400 at 8 bux, 600 at 7.00 bux 1,000 at 5.00. Or variations of this formula. Thats the key to long-term profits.

Silver miners are approaching that now. The best ones cost about 16 an oz. the average 20, the bad 24-25.

The risks are if gold goes down to 1,000 there is no profit. The risks are if the miners cant deliver, SAND loses money (though not all of it because their contracts are pretty solid to protect them). Thats about it.
