  • Ron Paul Has It Totally Backwards, Gold Isn't Going To Explode Higher [View article]
I guess the fact that gold and silver have been the currency of choice and the store of value for over 10,000 years has no relevance either. Oh and Ron Paul doesnt have a degree in economics, but hes read and studied more texts for over 50 years. My source? Having known the man for years and having meals with him and Carol at his home in Texas. So what do you recommend? Shorting something down 20% YTD? Shorting miners down 50%? Having your money in cash? Honestly Im not sure how this article relates to an investment website. Its not very actionable at all. Thanks for the effort though.

  • The Slow Death Of Bitcoin And Gold [View article]
I cannot believe this is publishable. Its not enough you have been bashing gold and silver for months. Thats fine. Money can be made shorting. However, this is an investment website. Not a place to defend the Fed or the government. This seems to be a propaganda article. And yes, I am one of those self-serving libertarians who believes gold and silver are real money, regardless of their dollar priced 'investment value.'

Interest rate spreads are widening actually, which invalidates a chunk of this thesis:

  • AGQ - The Investment Of The Decade? [View article]
Just be mindful that the big names are still bearish on silver (I am bullish). That said, AGQ will lose money if silver remains stagnant or trades range bound for several months due to the way the fund is set up). In other words, say silver holds 19.00 a share and only moves between 18.50 and 19.50 for 6 months, AGQ is likely to depreciate over 10%. That said, when silver does take off, AGQ will soar

  • Zero Hedge Is Wrong About Gold [View article]
Silver is down wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... more than 50%. Its a better buy than gold. $50 to $19-$20 is over 60%. Its a good time to accumulate, in my opinion. Gotta like $SLW here too

This is a simple article, just sharing my thoughts on the BRY and Permian Tie in. I do not see them as stand alone events (that is the most recent expansion efforts in Permian basin and the BRY merger).

  • American Capital Agency Vs. Annaly Capital: Choosing Which Stock To Buy And Why [View article]
At this point I wouldn't sell unless things we so bad that bankruptcy seemed likely. I've pyramided down and will add the final blocks at 10.00 and 8.50 should it get there. I don't see the company going bankrupt they have been around a long time. What I would like to see is NLY management take a voluntary pay cut in these tough times.

  • 3 New REITs Offering High Yields Plus Book Value Bargains [View article]
Repeat after me "I will always fact check before hitting submit"...JMI has NEVER traded under $10.00. I know this because I wrote an in depth article about why I bought it at $10.75, three cents above the all time low.

Second. "NLY considered by many to be a proxy for the REIT sector, has lost about one third of its market value since September 2012. Investors in Annaly who've endured those losses will need more than two years of its 15.31% dividend yield to break even."

Incorrect again. For sake of math, lets say NLY traded at $17 in september (it was actually HIGHER on average). It now trades at $11.90, a loss of $6.10. At the current dividend of $0.40, it pays $1.60 per year. Therefore it will take nearly FOUR years to get that money back, assuming yield and share price stays the same, not counting reinvestment. $1.60*4=$6.40.

    Please fact check.

    Repeat.

    Please fact check.

  • If you want a bullish take on gold (GLD), Ron Paul has one for you. Asked why the yellow metal hasn't performed very well of late, he says "markets do these kind of things … they go up and then they take a rest," but "if you look at the record since the Fed has been in existence, we have about a two cent dollar" and based on "about six thousand years of history" the prognosis for commodity money is pretty good. "As long as we have excessive computerized money … we're going to see gold go up." How far, you ask? "If we're not careful, to infinity," Paul warns. [View news story]
Ron Paul; about the only man who ran in 2012 qualified to be President. Ron Paul is correct on nearly everything.

  • Apple (AAPL -5.8%) has hit levels last seen in Dec. '11 following Cirrus Logic's warning and a Digitimes report about declining iPad Mini shipments. Cross Research calls Cirrus' warning "a reminder of weakening demand, and the challenges around product transitions" for Apple. Tero Kuittinen, noting sub-30M June quarter iPhone sales estimates and worries about the margin impact of emerging markets promotions, thinks "several nightmare scenarios have been priced in." "The naked fear of former Apple bulls is exactly what we need just before the earnings come out." [View news story]
Just printed a three handle. After this quarterly report, the stock will have a market cap that is a lil over 2x its CASH. Really?
