$JMI wow. Just keeps plugging along. $NLY and $AGNC seem to have their floor now. Looking to discuss $NYMT and $MTGE next

    • William Packer: Chris, JMI is going to get a rude awakening soon enough. I think the story of higher rates is not over..and JMI will take a hit to book.

    • William Packer: JMI has been terrible with hedging strategies.. unlikely MTGE.. which has been defending shareholder value much more strongly.

    • Christopher F. Davis: U cant really compare the two. $MTGE is commercial. $JMI is hybrid. A rude awakening maybe but ill take my 33% gain straight to the bank

    • William Packer: $MTGE is not even commercial lol. Where did you get your information? They invest in residential subprime and agency mbs...

    • William Packer: MTGE finally got approval to invest in whole loans and MSR... that is a brand new thing... We haven't even seen 1 QP with those assets yet

    • Christopher F. Davis: I confused my mREITs you are correct. MTGE is primarily residential with some commercial assets. investis on agency and non agency

    • Tucker Leppa: What $JMI is to $ARR, is equivalent as to, what $MTGE is to $AGNC.

    • Tucker Leppa: $What do you think about the announcements of $NYMT secondary today?
      1/6/14
    • William Packer: Tucker, it's not very surprising given the premium to book over there. I think there are very good performers that I would rather own,(MTGE)

    • Tucker Leppa: Well if 2013 is any guide, after $NYMT issued a public offering, they had a lights out year.
      1/6/14
    • Tucker Leppa: Compared to other mREITs that is.

    • Urbannek: Tucker what does a "lights out year" mean? I am not familiar with that expression. I own a few thousand shares of NYMT.

    • Tucker Leppa: It means they had such a great year they knocked the lights out :)
      1/27/14
    • Tucker Leppa: The proper grammar would probably be lights-out.
