  • Will A Federal Minimum Wage Increase Go Into Effect In 2015? [View instapost]
It seems the idea of minimum wage is to give everyone a more livable wage and to protect workers from the grips or corporate greed. It's obvious this noble idea is ineffective.

A much more effective method would to place a max on top executive pay by capping their total compensation at some sort of multiple. For example, no employee can earn more than 100x another, or something of that nature.

This idea could help reduce the growing disparity between top earners and lowest earners. Read this intriguing letter by a WFC employee who made it known he didnt earn the same % pay increase for reward for company success as the CEO. Why should top execs get higher raises in terms of % than other successful employees who are equally contributing to the company's success? http://bit.ly/1MqnpTk

  • Sanchez Energy's Catarina Play - Unprofitable Acreage, Bought At Worst Possible Time [View article]
sorry was on smart phone last night. I meant 1600 Boe/d for 30 day rate for some of SN's newest cat wells.

Again, the point of my commentary is you are using metrics from older wells drilled 3 years ago with old school fracking techniques when the Eagle Ford was less understood, to establish a basis for SN's profitability in the new future. What I'm trying to convey to you is the newest wells are much better than those drilled 3, 2 or even 1 year ago, and since the wells are producing something like 20%-30% more BOE in the beginning of the curve, it doesnt matter if they decline slightly faster... if you crunch the numbers the total EUR are improving by using simple math despite the slightly faster decline because the starting number is so much larger.

I think we can both agree EUR is unknown and unproven... it can only be estimated. Remember SN will sell older wells to SPP, and then redrill more with better technologies. SN will be profitable if energy prices comes back, thats really all that matters in the near term for the stock

yes caution is. however sn's new wells achieved 1600 bows for 30 days. I think the newest Catarina wells were surpass the old ones which are estimated 600 to 700 eur. new ones may reach 700 to 800 but we will see

the 2013 data isn't different. but the point is when 2014 data comes out and shows a continued improvement in well production then your old data isn't that helpful. the data is trending better and better is it not?

Zoltan. I am sorry to inform you that you are incorrect. According to the EIA, initial production rates have been improving, and near term years on the production curve are improving as well..http://1.usa.gov/1D4Zt3v Therefore, as my original comment noted, your use of production data from 2013 is not efficient to use in determining if SN can make it or not. The difficult thing is ultimate recovery is still anyones best guess unless someone has a time machine
