RLP.. You and others continue to ignore the table I presented in the article, taken directly from the latest investor presentation. Look at it: Even with $40 WTI and $2.50 natural gas prices sustained over 1 full year, KMI will still have $315 M in coverage over the dividend. Are you saying this is a lie cause KMI owns a few frackers and a few wells? All of that is included in this table so whats your problem?

I think they will reasonably meet expectations and raise the dividend as planned. like the eia report says nat gas volumes appear to be rising judging from storages and production

KMI's cash flows are secure enough to pay the dividend and then some if commodity prices change for the worst for long periods.. The table I shared in the article includes your CO2 concerns. Review it above, as it does account for the entire KMI business.

WDL. Yes, expansion cap ex is not funded with cash flows. New projects are very very expensive. However, Natural Gas demand is rising even in this environment. KMI is in an excellent position

    Krauser

Do you consider Pepsi a seller of aluminum? KMI is a midstream operator of pipelines, mostly natural gas. They may be in the business of oil gas but their business model is specifically designed to mitigate commodity price variation, up or down. If you insist other wise you might as well buy Pepsi to play aluminum pricing... there's simply other things that impact earnings way more.... like volumes and the demand for the shipping of the product itself. This is why I highlighted what I did in the article.

RLP. They are not exposed to commodity pricing as if they were upstream drillers. They simply move the product from A to B, not try to buy/drill it then sell it. If you dont understand this then I dont know what else to say to you. Keep trying to find a hole in my thesis.

don't think too hard . The company owns pipelines. They move product from A to B. They are not exposed to the pricing of the product just the volumes.

KMI is uniquely positioned and is differentiated by its extremely overweight exposure to Natural Gas volumes... not commodity pricing, as the others in the group are.

KMI should benefit, unlike many others you mentioned, from natural gas consumption from power plants which have/are converting from coal (in the US & Mexico), industrial use, and the numerous NGL export plants coming online.

I understand the concerns.... hard to understand how KMI can still do reasonably despite commodity prices but the company had clear ambitions to be set up this way for a reason. Cheers Mr Kinder and Kim

depends what broker you use... they expire May of 2017, each warrant gives the holder the right to buy KMI shares @ $40 each. the premium is currently $2.50. Therefore, @ expiration, 42.50 would be your break even. Suppose shares finish @ 45.00 @ expiration, you would double your money as they'd be worth around 5.00 each. The negatives are you don't collect dividends or any adjustments in strike price because of them. Also, you can lose more than just holding shares..... Anywhere under 40/share @ expiration would result in a 100% loss. However, if you are like me and feel KMI could very easily be in the high 40's or possibly higher if the energy market recovers that far out, the warrants are a steal at today's prices.

    Ernie...

Your ratios are an interesting snap shot, but how do these backwards looking metrics accurately measure the future? Specifically the new, post roll up KMI, which is tax advantaged for years to come while harnesses other synergies from EPB/KMP/KMR swallow?

If KMI is so burdened how can KMI comfortably raise the dividend by 10% CAGR while having excess coverage? This song of KMI is in trouble is one ive been hearing for over 5 years. When will it register that this company and its growing dividend is legit
