  • Atlantic Power: A Tale Of Misinformation [View article]
The fact that this information was hidden on the lastest 10 - K to me proves management knew of this cut and lied to investors in the Fall of 2012

  • It's "death bells" for commodities, says Citigroup, calling 2013 the year in which it's realized the commodity supercycle is over and a new era in which the relative performance of how "stuff" performs against each other and other assets is what matters. Specifically on oil, Citi calls Q1's move higher without merit and expects the recent downtick in prices to continue. [View news story]
I remember back in September when $GS said 2013 would be a great year for commodities. I dont believe a word these guys say.

  • Long Call Grand Slam [View article]
Great thingsto mention that most of us forget to point out. I often buy options a week or 2 before big events like earnings, then sell right before the announcement to take advantage of the increase in IV. Often, even if the stock is the same price where I originally bought it, I can sell the option for more due to this IV increase

BBEP is an MLP. Comparing the distributions to EPS is probably not efficient. Calculate the Coverage Ratio that is better:

  • Why Value And Dividend Investors Should Love BP [View article]
Doesnt care? Do you even know how much they've spent in cleaning it up? The cleanup was quite remarkable and unprecidented. Also, there willingness to pay claims by all parites effected without being forced to do so by law or court has been outstanding. BP cares about the spill and their actions have nothing but proven so.

  • Refiners are hit in reaction to a WSJ story calling attention to the squeeze they face from the rising costs of complying with a federal mandate to use corn ethanol in fuel. An EPA proposal, which could be made final as soon as next month, could force refiners and fuel importers to use more than 14B gallons of ethanol, up from 13.3B in 2012. SPS. i have submitted a correction-- you are right, I meant to write directors. Thank you

YES! According to TGP's presentation, WCT's business address happened to be SD's Corp headquarters!!!! are you serious!!! WCT has been skimming off the top of SD's deals! It's so blatent you'd have to be both blind and stupid not to see it.

Sadly, there is MUCH more in presentation about the dealings with WCT.... How can a company run by Ward's son have any dealings with SD legally? I can't believe these people don't get arrested or something. After reading it for an hour last night I nearly barfed in my mouth.

The good news is SD's assets hold promise if Ward can get ousted!!!!

  • The breakdown of Apple's (AAPL) iOS Maps partnership with Google (GOOG) centered around turn-by-turn navigation, sources (possibly within Apple) tell AllThingsD's John Paczkowski. Apple pushed Google to provide data that would enable turn-by-turn, but Google was unwilling, at least without in-app branding and/or support for other Google features. One source suggests Apple execs have been taken aback by the Maps uproar. "I think they felt they were farther along than they actually are." (more[View news story]

  • Is An Oil Shock Coming This Summer? [View article]
Wow you killed this thread. I don't think I can bring myself to the keyboard after reading your comment. I may just go jump of a bridge, or wear a gas mask while riding a horse to work everyday so I can save the world one gallop at a time. When you spelled "parish" wrong you lost all my respect. After reading through your endless drunken ramble, I laughed about how you started this dillusional essay by calling the article speculative "nonsense". Which brings me to your opening paragraph-How did what YOU write educate us about investing?
