  • Hidden Leverage At Kinder Morgan [View article]
Your whole argument is kind of silly...Sort of like saying walmart's cash flows are derived from credit strapped consumers so it is at risk... Or... go 1 step forward and say that KMP's customers (drillers, refiners, energy plants) are highly levered so they wont pay the contracts. Its just not apropriate to dive that deep as it becomes inaccurate.
KMI is in some ways safer than KMP cause it is also the GP of EPB as well, so with KMI you get a piece of both companies.

You say "if there is a problem" ? Kinder Morgan in total moves ~30% of the natural gas consumed in the US as per the recent conference call. For KMI, 82% of cash flows is feebased, and 94% is fee-based or hedged.....I think you are barking at shadows, if there is a "problem", the entire market will probably experience the same pain!

KMP has raised the dividend EVERY YEAR since 1996. WIth all the LNG export facilities coming online over the next 10 years KMI KMP EPB will surely benefit, not to mention power plants still switching to natty gas. But oh sorry you don't mention this.
This article reminds me of your last hit piece that said KMP's dividend had negative coverage this last quarter, yet you didn't know this happens EVERY year due to the nature of their business and weather. Q1 and Q4 have excess coverage that compensates for Q2 and Q3-- this happens EVERY YEAR... did you even listen to the conference call, ever??

This article about debt is just another foolish hit piece. I cant wait to read your next one, probably about maintenance cap ex! HAHA

  • Kinder Morgan Inc. Remains A Solid Choice For Dividend-Growth Investors [View article]
I found the most interesting moment of the earnings call was when Kevin Kaiser called in a question. Apparently he was rather confused regarding the difference between FCF and DCF for KMI. This was sobering realization considering the basic premise and overwhelming importance of these definitions, combined with his apparently highly regarded bear thesis. Memo to Kevin: Time to cover your short

  • Kinder Morgan: Is The Trans Mountain Pipeline Becoming The New Keystone? [View article]
The existing pipeline may be safe, but who knows how safe it will be once it's expanded. Overall, Kinder Morgan is one of the safest pipeline operators in the country. In fact, management gets bonused based on their safety performance of pipe. I bet Rachel didn't mention that one.

Last night I watched a local channel covering my town's council meeting. They approved increase wages and steps for local unions, meanwhile the town is bringing in less revenue than in the past. Why do union workers get raise after raise if the town cant afford it? The government is in the pockets of big companies and unions- They can't cut spending casue they owe too many favors!

  • It's "death bells" for commodities, says Citigroup, calling 2013 the year in which it's realized the commodity supercycle is over and a new era in which the relative performance of how "stuff" performs against each other and other assets is what matters. Specifically on oil, Citi calls Q1's move higher without merit and expects the recent downtick in prices to continue. [View news story]
I remember back in September when $GS said 2013 would be a great year for commodities. I dont believe a word these guys say.

  • Who Is Going To Finally Stop Herbalife? [View article]
Just cause something is "bad for society" doesn't mean it should be stopped. What about alcohol and tobacco? (NYSE:DEO), (NYSE:MO)? If the government shut down everything thought to be "bad" for you, well you'd be in for a rude surprise... you and I wouldn't be "free" anymore.

I for one think MLM's exists because we are free to choose what we want, whether it be have a drink, have a smoke, or even eat a chesseburger with crappy worm casting laced-meat from (NYSE:MCD). Technically there is a chance to succeed in HLF, which is why it's still legal, just like with drinking and smoking in won't destroy society as we know it.

Having the choice to destroy yourself with over indulgence or succeed is the beauty of being free. In this metaphorical example, HLF does closely resemble alcohol and tobacco. The users must understand how to control their consumption and spending on the product, and make the right choice for yourself.

Without this choice we would be one step closer to being communists.

  • Why GE Shares Are Under Pressure [View article]
GE has record backlog and is growing, and is increasing margins. Is increasing the dividend since 2009. Is successfully winding down and could very possibly spin off parts of GECC. Also has fantastic relationship with Boeing, which is selling planes like hotcakes. What is not to like?

Don't get stuck on 2009, many stocks got hammered and have yet to fully recover. I am looking forward not backward on this one.

    Long GE
