GE, PFE, CAG, KR, HAL, & INTC if you owned all of those already, which would you say is at a low enough price to add right now? not to trade

    • Joseph P. Porter: HAL looks mighty tempting, CAG not too bad, either. INTC and GE, dunno. PFE I tend to believe is on the way up, maybe to 30.

    • Mercy Jimenez: DAG agree w/ Joseph on PFE; just added some today; Eaton Vance = 3rd source recently 2 expect world-wide health-care sector growth but DYODD

    • DAG1996: thanks much to you both. your answers are consistent with my thinking. reason for my question is indicators that made me doubt my thinking.
      9/27/12
    • DAG1996: i.e., at least one analyst just reduced HAL target. PFE is great long-term, just not sure how soon blockbuster revenue can be replaced.
      9/27/12
    • DAG1996: GE has gotten its groove back, but Zacks rates it sell. that may just be rear-view mirror analysis. CAG seems ready for more acquistions.
      9/27/12
    • Joseph P. Porter: When I saw GE's chart I thought I'd wait a couple days, same with INTC. Have no feel for their direction. Have no intuition on CAG at all.
      9/27/12
    • Joseph P. Porter: To continue: CAG's current price looks okay, worth a chance, but I'd go the certain PFE before an unintuitive CAG.

    • DAG1996: helpful, thanks. i buy to hold long term so i average in over months. i think my add priority will be PFE, GE, CAG, HAL. wait on INTC & KR
      9/27/12
    • Joseph P. Porter: Sounds like a plan! Good luck, and keep me informed (GE is on my watch list, but for now looking mainly at big divs.
      9/27/12
    • DAG1996: thanks & will do. part of my thesis is that GE's div will be big again before long. supertankers turn slowly but watch out once up to speed.

    • Dividends For The Long Haul: In my opinion INTC looks like one of the best long term buys on the market http://bit.ly/Uwyc0z
      9/27/12
    • DAG1996: just finished reading an article on GE http://bit.ly/PtaNfE
      9/27/12
    • DAG1996: i'm holding INTC and will add at some point, but i think it will probably fall a little more first so i'll probably add the others first.
      9/27/12
    • Dividends For The Long Haul: Good article, more proof GE is great long term buy, I just think INTC valuation is a great deal More on GE: http://bit.ly/RRIxYl

    • DAG1996: good article thanks. i agree INTC is very undervalued. i just think it is likely to come down a bit more and take a while to recover.
      9/27/12
    • DAG1996: plus INTC is the only one i'm under water on so i need to try to catch it closer to its bottom than the others in order to lower my average
      9/27/12
    • Joseph P. Porter: I agree INTC is going to go lower - friction among Intel managers will hold up any progress until Windows 8 comes out.
      9/27/12
    • DAG1996: even though i'm a MSFT holder i'm concerned about Win8... enterprise customers skipped Vista and waited a long time for Win7... don't need 8
      9/27/12
    • Joseph P. Porter: INTC ceo ripped Win 8, but beta and RTC users say it's fine. INTC's credibility on the line? Duking it out w/MSFT no way to gain value.
      9/27/12
    • DAG1996: that's a rumor from shorts... notice every report says something like "an unidentified person who claims to have been at the Intel meeting"
      9/27/12
    • DAG1996: curious that only one person heard the supposed statement & i don't believe INTC chief is dumb enough to shoot himself in the foot like that
      9/27/12
    • DAG1996: looks like a great opportunity to add more GE -- the "miss" was from currency exchange rates and all else is going well.
      10/21/12
    • DAG1996: CAG i might add before earnings since they're much less susceptible to the things that are causing others to miss (Europe & China)
      10/21/12
    • DAG1996: i'm still struggling over what to do with INTC -- average down or cut losses. leaning toward averaging down, but still not sure its bottomed
      10/21/12
    • Mercy Jimenez: DAG close watch on CAG also; really like it but want <52-week high pps; if it doesn't happen I'll just go on 2next target on long watch list
      10/21/12
    • DAG1996: Mercy, I too dislike buying near 52-wk highs, but CAG has announced plans to continue making accretive acquisitions.
      10/21/12
    • DAG1996: So, I also try to consider when valuation is likely to continually increase, thereby making the trailing 52-wk high less relevant.
      10/21/12
    • Mercy Jimenez: DAG UR probably right + better at overcoming this resistance than I am; no doubt I've missed opportunities waiting for meltdowns to pounce.
      10/21/12
    • DAG1996: i'm often not cautious enough so missing an opportunity is a high-quality problem relative to misinterpreting risk as opportunity.
