Jim Cramer's Mad Money Effect: A Winning Strategy? [View article]
If you do some homework and apply some rules to Cramers picks (like I do with my "Cramer Portfolio Strategy"), the returns are very good. This is just another one of those studies that attempts to knock Mad Money down. I think the show is useful as it provides Ideas - one does not have to buy or sell anything. It is to be used as part of an overall strategy. Using Mad money, to date, I have earned almost 18% (actually from September). So Mad Money does add value from my perspective. Hello David, the two tend to follow each other closely. Since I was bearish on crude, I believe that the XLE is out of line. Thus, it should return to the other or the mean of the two so to speak. I making an overvaluation call of one vs the other. Thanks...Dan

Paul, it is indeed a trade for a year or two or just 6 more mos. I have had a good run with them trimming some gains today from CAL. It is up almost 70% since September 8th....Thanks for the comment.. Dan
Sorry for the late reply. I was tying in the direction of the 10 year to gold becuase if (and when) the 10 year shot up, that would be an inflationary story - thus support for gold. In hindsight, I miss read the charts and perhpas should have never brought up the theory to start with. There is some correlation there - just not a direct one.
