Recent Analyst Research on the CDN Market Needs to Be Questioned [View article]
@Wisdom: You say " I have read about CDNetworks problems from other sources, I would have appreciated a more precise defense."
A more precise defense? You kidding? The point I was making was that CDNetworks has not made any major mistakes with their CDN offering. Internap on the other hand has had many public facing issues, not to mention writing down $150M of the VitalStream acquisition. It's all public info. I don't need to "defend" CDNetworks, the facts are the facts. Point me to something that shows CDNetworks has made mistakes as large as Internap.
You also say, "It is difficult to analyze CDNs when you do not want to upset advertisers of 'streaming media magazine."
Again, make no sense. Internap is one of the largest advertisers with Streaming Media magazine, so if I was worried about "upsetting" them, I would not have written this post saying that CDNetworks should be listed above Internap.

Five Key Quotes from Limelight's Conference Call [View article]
EdgeStream is a new CDN, less than a year old, who is just starting out in the market. While customers seem to say good things about them, EdgeCast won't even do $15 million dollars in revenue this year. Limelight is projected to do over $150 million and Akamai's doing at least $400 million in CDN revenue in 2008. That means EdgeCast is doing less than 2% of Akamai's CDN only revenue. You have to keep things in perspective..
EdgeCast is not trying to be Akamai or Limelight and while all three companies offer one product that is similar, CDN, the rest of what all the three companies do are very different. The focus is different, the markets they serve are different, the capacity they have is different, the solutions outside of delivering bits is different.... you can only compare the products and services that are similar, not the companies as a whole.
AT&T Builds Out CDN, Prepares to Push Into the Market [View article]
AT&T said that over time, they will rely less on partners they work with now for delivery and do more of it themselves. That does not happen over night, but slowly more and more delivery will be done by AT&T as they turn up the capacity of the network.
