  • U.S. Economy: Another Crack Opening Up? [View article]
I couldn't tell you, Michael. CDS spreads are abnormally low, and have been for a while. Our pseudonymical friend, Tyler Durden, has been on top of this issue for quite some time now. Risk displacement? Maybe we should think along the lines of the credit crisis becoming somewhat of a walk in the park for the Feds. Or maybe the CDS spreads signal the end of all ends to credit risk. This is certainly not to say that banks can't relapse again. But even then, the markets are not likely to respond, unless the Feds, of course, blatantly (and to their own amusement) were to disengage themselves from the problem: Imagine the havoc. Anyhow, in case this Financial Armageddon stuff does not pan out, I got an idea for a book that might fit your writing style: "Moon Landings: A Complete Hoax".
