    AAPL's average margin for all of 2012 was the highest in their history. I know of no other device maker that can bring 1 dollar in 4 to the bottom line, as they did in the 4th qtr.

    I think Scott's point is that Apple doesn't fill in the low end of the market, and that a bearish view of the company is that the low end has to be filled in -- if you don't do it a competitor will and eat your lunch.

    Also, Tim Cook is to Steve Jobs as Ralph David Abernathy was to Dr. King.

    I think that additional demand would push the price to a normal level, from which expected returns can be relatively modest and predictable, more in line with the market.

    We've gone from PEs near those of Google in this stock to a PC that's below that of INTC. The right price for AAPL is probably somewhere in the middle, a market multiple of earnings. Which is around 14x earnings, maybe 14.5x. But not 20. And not 10.

    They're a high end brand in overseas markets. That said, there is huge untapped demand in China, and yes, they should be willing to save margins in places and gain share.
