  • Gold Bulls And Bears Should Short GDX [View article]
The solar industry has busted, I wrote about FSLR when it traded above $130. GDX components are even or down since gold was at $500/oz, only juniors whose production only began in recent years have made gains. All are poised to decline from here until they become oversold. I am a long term PM bull, but expect even spot prices to get hammered in the next 3 months or so.

  • It's the story that won't go away: The USPS may run out of money. With the elections out of the way, Congressmen from both sides of the aisle need to step up to take action or the agency will default on $11B in payments to the U.S. Treasury and could be forced to stop delivering mail in 2013. A proposed plan to cut mail service to four days a week could benefit UPS and FedEx (FDX), according to analyst, but only if Congress gathers the courage to make the sweeping cuts at one of the nation's largest employers. [View news story]

  • The Short Case For Simon Property Group [View article]
The numbers come from Google Finance. Regardless, backwards looking data is hardly consequential within an industry facing demand destruction due to demographic shifts. Furthermore, properties in China are particularly hopeless. Calling SPG as sound as CVX, MCD, WMT is ignorant if not shameful.

Yes, a tennis racquet is more practical than betting either way on a ponzi scheme.

What happened to 1260? 1300? Next do I get to hear about how I was "more wrong"?

    regarding accountability...

Mr. Bryant, your track record may be the worst of any contributor on this site. Buying China smallcaps throughout 2010? Baidu $260? $100 silver? Gold a risk off trade?

I have a history of being ever so slightly early with top calls and continually try to develop skills as a technician. Market psychology, which few even consider and fewer grasp, is my strength.

You refer to debt that represents paper money. There's a big difference between the two... Gold and silver are alternative deflation plays and yes, I believe they will outshine greenbacks in the very long term.

Thanks for all your comments Mr Gilburt. We may not see things identically, however I certainly respect that your analysis is not a regurgitation of earnings reports and mean reversions.

Of course. As mentioned oil, gold and the euro experienced technical failures last week. Stock charts far and wide are hideous, but HFT makes reading stock charts less reliable.

Didn't see a question, just a lot of commas.

PS. I failed to include reason #8 (perhaps the most impactful): The end of US occupation of Iraq.
