I have seen failing bridges and other problems. Roads are not as well kept. We could still use big public works projects and infrastructure needs updating.

In China, most major cities are joined by high speed trains. We have no such network.

You can't see if you don't look.

TANSTAAFL:, sure. However, if a bank borrows for next to nothing, and lends to you at a higher rate, as in much higher rate, a pretty cheap lunch is had.

The economy does not operate under Newton's Laws. Could you really imagine an economist being an engineer?

I would say bridges, roads, trains, and various other infrastructure. I would likewise say repair and/or replacement of the same.

I have downloaded the cited paper from Adair Turner and even printed it - maybe radical but maybe a bit right too.

    Thoughtful article

  • Apple Disappointed In Part Due To Supply Constraints [View article]
Tim Cook CEO was far less than impressive. I did not hear all of the conference but what I heard was lackluster. No innovation equals no substantial increase in stock price. AAPL is down.

Perhaps because I called the supply constraint for iPhone 5 as of July 30, 2012 and was upheld in that thesis directly from the last Apple earnings conference call as published in articles here?

Perhaps because even CNBC Asia is questioning today about Apple's drive to innovate and the use of its monies since it has not, please note it is Friday, February 8, 2013 on that side of the world?

Just a couple of thoughts...where is your back-up?

  • Investing In China: Getting Around The Great Wall With The A-Shares ETF [View article]
    Thank you for the article.

Just a question, A-Shares have been lagging the growth shown in comparable H-Shares for the last year. Do you see more growth from A-Shares for the same companies? What is your take on Chinese inflation both as reported and as exists?

    Just wondering...

No innovation, no increase in stock price.

I believe that sums up AAPL at this time.
