  • Is Bank Of America Any Better? [View article]
Citigroup and BAC are two different animals at this point in my view Stone. yes Citi has a lower valuation, but that is for a reason, citi has way more risk, with significant Mexican operations (Mexico just took huge hit from lack of oil revs) and significant oil and gas and commodities risk (second largest exposure to O&G loans other than WFC.)

I am not so sure im ready to do the easy regs happy dance just yet either. the repubs seems flustered alreadyand Have you heard about the new basel 111 requirements?

dont get me wrong, I love Citi, I used to work there. But, they have already eased mortgage regs and BAC is bigger on housing. if I had to make a choice id say BAC.

actually my final conclusion was correct, you did get a chance to buy the stock lower in the near future, the stock dropped from this day when it was at $15,38 to $14.84 the following week. a 4% drop. then i changed my call on Oct 16 when the stock hit $15.43 to go long. soo....

Yeah, you buy stocks like KMI so you can pass them on to your children and never pay capital gains taxes, like UP wanted to... The assets are "stepped up" for your heir so the estate pays no taxes... currently... i do know the tax code and actually graduated with honors in Accounting and worked for EY a few times.. i wrote an article about the capital gains trap regarding owning GE actually a while back.

the thing is... the fact you have to pay capital gains tax should be fundamental of investing common knowledge... words are at a premium in an article...

  • Texas: Recession In 2015? [View article]
Josh, it is obvious you have no idea what is up in Texas... it is actually quite humorous. You are based out of California... so I can see where the confusion may lie. If you want to see where the next recession will start... look out the window...

  • Texas: Recession In 2015? [View article]
I have lived in Texas for 45 years and live in San Antonio now... I'll let you know when something happens, but right now its going like gangbusters... people are moving here from all over the world for all types of reasons... Texas will be the last state to feel a recession... the premise sounds good in theory.. but comparing Texas to Russia just doesn't compute for me.
