  • USGS Show Gold Mine Supply Dropping Every Single Month In 2013 [View article]
Our client Klondex Mines Ltd. $KLNDF or $KDX.TO is one miner helping stem the tide of declining N.A. gold production. On Mon 9/23 they reported their first cash receipts from their Northern Nevada Fire Creek gold & silver project: C$1.8M from the processing by $NEM of 1,000 tons of mineralized material.

While it doesn't move the needle for North America, it does seem they have favorable conditions for initiating small scale production later this year under a Bulk Sampling permit. That permit limits them to processing 36,500 tons of material in a 12 month period.

  • Klondex Mines Is An Excellent Speculative Stock For Gold Bulls [View article]
    Dear @SeekingAlpha,

We would great appreciate your updating your stock symbol nomenclature so that companies on the OTCQX, such as Klondex Mines, which are leveraging a major exchange listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange (and a $100M market cap) to trade in the U.S. on the OTCQX - are not tarred with the baggage of an old, misleading and incorrect suffix of .PK (which, as you know, derives from the dated Pink Sheets - now the OTC Pink). Further, the PK suggests that Klondex is not filing with securities regulators, yet they are fully reporting on the Toronto Stock Exchange and benefit from Canada's very rigorous 43-101 regulations regarding mining disclosures.

There is clearly interest in Klondex and its Nevada properties and gold mining operations and yet its two symbols: TSX: KDX and OTCQX: KLNDF are either not referenced or not accurately so in your service.

    Thank you!

David Collins - External IR counsel for Klondex

  • The Truth About Robin Raina's Ebix: Part I [View article]
I'm dismayed to see SA's lack of impartiality in its company commentaries - particularly Eli Hoffman's “attaboy” here when there is no definitive proof of anything – just a daisy chain of rumor-mongering.

In all fairness - none of us know the truth behind $EBIX and its business, accounting, etc. and unlike most “shorts” EBIX has generated substantial cash which it has utilized in various ways that are not easy to fake. Most shorts tend to be devoid of cash flow – not brimming with it.

As for the chain of command – the anonymous reports triggered the share price which pulled in the class action types and now the Federals are chasing after the class action allegations – in essence a slow speed car pile up where we don’t know who is at fault at the head of the crash.

To be candid, the short thesis is all speculation, propaganda, rumor and stock manipulation - versus a publicly filing company - making it very distressing that an SA editor would make such an indictment without a clear window on the facts. Again it does raise the question of SA's relationship with its rumor slingers and whether they offer a fair platform for discourse?

The one thing that is clear is that SA has amazing distribution reach for its authors and its platform can move stocks without the level of editorial rigor I would like to think exists in other financial sources.

It seems the only place where one is NOT innocent until proven guilty is in the stock market. While I think EBIX has done a terrible job in defending its valuation against aggressive attacks and in so doing has deeply eroded the confidence of its long-time supporters and made them second guess themselves - I am willing to believe that Goldman Sachs' intensive due diligence on the Company prior to making a bid (they clearly knew EBIX's profile and all the allegations that Gotham and others had levied and took steps to verify the legitimacy of the various claims) provided a far more accurate and credible view of the company – that they thought was worth $20 a share.

That Goldman would drop their bid in the face of Federal legal scrutiny (but not in the face of the class action suits) does not surprise me in the slightest - because the Federal investigation introduces a far greater level of risk and uncertainty than would be appropriate to take on as an investor. You just have no way to know how the Federal process will wind up – as in the court of law – anythign can happen.

But to give credit where it is due, the purveyors of the short thesis - including their distribution partner SA and their buddies - have done a remarkable job in character assassination of a company and a CEO. I’m appalled that price of free speech is to enable such activities, but I guess that’s part of the deal. I can say as an EBIX investor that their efforts, if they are found to be off the mark, have caused enormous financial damage to EBIX and its shareholders.

That SeekingAlpha would congratulate them at this premature stage of the game is really the most apalling aspect of this all.

Just a heads up that this article is linked to the symbol for INTL FCStone (Nasdaq: $INTL) a specialty financial services company that's worth a close look given its strength in risk management & other securities/commodities... trading and consultative services for middle market companies - and is often confused with Intel ($INTC).

Interesting that these negatives are largely mitigated in the multichannel retail model with companies like $LINTA $HSNI $VVTV that reach customers via TV, the Internet, mobile and social media - and can centralize inventory, shipping, buying, etc.

With consumers increasingly comfortable with "remote" shopping, this value-added model that brings the experience to the customer when and where they want - makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for the mention on our client, Klondex Mines TSX: KDX ( $KDX.CA) & OTCQX: KLNDF and its Fire Creek Nevada gold & silver project.

Beyond insider buying, Klondex is slated to report an updated resource and initiate bulk sampling production of gold/silver in the next few months.

Klondex is one of a small group of gold miners that are positioned to produce gold profitably at much lower gold prices - even below $1000 - but of course we are rooting for prices going the other way over the long term!

The trick is in having grades that are economic at lower gold prices. A few grams per ton doesn't cut it at lower prices - so you need higher grades to make money.

If you look at Klondex's May 2011 resource estimate, you'll see that at a 7 gram cutoff - which is around 1/5 of an ounce, they have over 1.2M indicated ounces of gold vs. 1.6M indicated ounces of gold at a 4 gram cutoff (same sort of thing for indicated ounces). That gives you a window on the strength of the resource. [Note: "Indicated" is a Canadian classification that requires more data/confirmation to reach the classification; inferred is a less stringent standard and therefore less reliable. Klondex has 0.46M ounces of gold on an inferred basis and a 4 gram cuttoff]

Klondex will have three mine plans that reflect three different gold prices. Of course, the lower the gold price, the lower the # of economic ounces - but the gold that is not mined will remain for production if and when gold prices rebound.

CEO Paul Huet has great experience so he understands the need to have differing mine plans and to respond quickly to major pricing changes so that a mine remains as profitable as possible, while also ensuring the lower grades are not "sterilized" by mining activity.

Also, don't forget the silver as Klondex has about 1-1 gold to silver ratio in its resource -which will help offset production costs.

    Thought this would be helpful.
