When somebody provides with the data history of the index I'll look at it. Until then it's just another neat new idea.

Wait means wait if you wish to bottom pick. Perhaps a breakout above the 22 period moving average would be "a" sign to buy. In the meantime, unless you wish to short, stay out.
I once had a CTA trading for my clients several decades ago and he was short sugar. He got short at 9. It went down consistently and when it got to 5 a friend asked, "where's it going....to zero?" The meaning was it was foolish to trade it short from this level. Well, it went to 2 before we got out at 3. That's my bottom picking lesson.

INP is under restriction, last I checked, from issuing new shares. Therefore, even institutions can't short it if they wish since new shares can't be issued.
As to what's going on specifically with IFN it's just at a really high altitude and moves around in large chunks. The premium is high and caused by the very sharp run-up in that market post the recent election.
As time passes I may shift to other ETFs but for now I'll stick with IFN as the government makes ETF/ETN and closed-end funds the same in some respects given share issuance restrictions.

I only write the music (charts) not the words (headlines).

Willydo: The Sprott piece is well done and I haven't found anything to fault it "yet". Perhaps there is and folks reading this should chime in if they've discovered anything.
This is a "down the road" issue for traders currently as the other links I posted tell us the HAL 9000s are day-trading the snot out of markets and they'll get to bonds when they want to. As for portfolio construction, investors should probably be leery of "duration risk" issues by staying in shorter term bonds. That's all I can offer at the moment.

Just kidding. I think the 22 period should offer support on a weekly closing basis for RIMM.
