Higher living standards are the result of women in the workforce doubling or adding to household income--not inflation adjusted. Healthcare isn't better in my opinion except in isolated areas and doctors are in short supply. Better toys are no different now then they were from times previous to 1976. Better housing? McMansions and a housing crisis. What place on earth are you living?
