Any thoughts on $ORCL bringing forward its dividends?

    • Albert Alfonso: They have such a small yield, it really shouldn't move the stock much.

    • Charles Margolis: They should do a special dividend... $WMT moved its dividend too, makes sense. I'm liking $DIS dividend increase.

    • kingShehi: I still don't understand the logic of issuing a special div especially like $COST you have to borrow money to do it.

    • kingShehi: Also bring forward dividends doesn't make sense to me. How will future shareholders (of 2013) be rewarded in 2013.

    • kingShehi: Also what incentive would current shareholders have to keep the stock if thealready banked the dividends for the year....

    • SA Editor Samir Patel: It's a nice gesture to help major shareholders avoid confiscatory taxation, for one quarter anyway.

    • Albert Alfonso: I would hope that nobody is holding $ORCL for that 0.7% dividend. :)

    • kingShehi: It may be beneficiary to the current major shareholder as the case of $LVS, but not to the expense of future shareholders.

    • Ocean Man: For those that ask for the incentives of shareholders to be aligned with management, here you go. Larry's saving $50M in taxes.
