<p>According to Gordon, ESPN's director of local and affiliate research, 90 of 157 'non-early adopters' simply didn't want their Digital Video Recorders and returned them.&#160; Among the reasons cited:&#160; the installation process; cost; and design (i.e. it didn't match with other home furnishings).&#160; Among those who did not return their DVRs, most continued to watch commercials, even in fast forward mode.&#160; ESPN is currently studying a larger group of about 1,000 households.&#160; Below are some statistics from the original study:
