    Sorry for the confusion, and I appreciate your giving me the opportunity to clear it up.
    I wouldn't say "ever worth owning". I am saying that for investors looking to buy a single "sector" ETF, the best sector ETF is Consumer Staples. Naturally, the best equity strategy is to buy the 'best' stocks despite their sector. But this article is focused on equity, sector ETFs.     Good point: for our ETF analysis to have much merit, our individual risk/reward rating system for stocks has to be decent. We believe our risk/reward ratings of stocks to be good, but don't take my work for it. Check out the links below for independent opinions on our stock-rating system.
    All of our ETF/mutual fund research is based on analyzing (from bottoms-up) all the holdings of the ETF or fund. We then aggregate the data from all of the allocations within an ETF or fund to derive our risk/reward rating for the ETF or Fund.
