  • Great AMZN earnings news bring the AMZN TTM PE down to 55. This isn't too bad when AMZN grew earnings 67% y-o-y in a recession yet!!!

  • Some buyers may be saving gas by shopping at AMZN. They may prefer malls, but they are conserving in a recession.

  • A good protion of AMZN's gains were taken from other retailers. Means someone else did worse because AMZN did that much better.

  • AMZN's great result probably does not translate well to all of retail. AMZN is online. Others are in malls, etc.
