I think $9 will be a short term floor. If you are bearish on SPX or think interest rates will go higher/faster than expectations, this company can go to $8, but it's pretty much even money at $9. I think long term this company can go higher but until they fix their opaque book it will underperform most of its peers.

I have no position but a lot of people will lose a lot more than what they will make if data is off. I actually have some expertise with this subject

I still think this company should improve transparency. It needs to do a better job of communicating the nuances of its cash flow and assets in a clear and understandable way so that the average investor can understand it.
But the risk/reward for shorting this name past $9 is not as good as before. It might be prudent to take profits around these levels.

I still think they do have aggressive accounting and they need to improve transparency. I will not apologize for that. No company should be valued at a premium for having byzantine accounting.
But at $9, I am much less negative and for the shorts out there, I suggest that this level might be a good spot to take profits. There are certainly a lot of better stocks to buy other than NRF but it is not as good of a short as before.

As leaked earlier, Jamie Dimon will keep both jobs at JPMorgan (JPM +2.1%) as the vote to separate the Chairman and CEO roles receives only about 32% support (got 40% last year). Additionally, all board members are re-elected, including risk-committee member Ellen Futter, who got 53.1% of the vote. [View news story]
There is no precedent for the current market, writes The Fat Pitch. Consider: 1) The S&P (SPY) has been up 56 of 88 trading sessions this year 2) It's up an uncorrected 24% since the post-election low - the longest streak in over 3 decades 3) The Nasdaq (QQQ) is on pace for a 7th straight up month, an occurrence with a 3-in-100 probability. Long term it's bullish, writes Ukarlewitz, as this sort of strength is rarely the end of a trend. Short term? Stay nimble. [View news story]
I think the catalyst this time around could be unexpected (larger) interest rate hike. Long term I agree with the article, its very bullish.

Google's (GOOG +0.1%) sell-side PTs have been surging as shares continue trading above $900 following a torrent of I/O news. The I/O news demonstrates "Google remains one of the most innovative and forward thinking companies of this generation," gushes Topeka, which has raised its PT to $999. Baird's PT is now at $1,025, and Argus' at $1,065. In some respects, the mood resembles that surrounding Apple not too long ago. [View news story]

If the stock moves, it's because people agree that NRF needs to be more transparent. There are cheaper, better quality, more transparent REITs out there. CLNY is just one example. That being said, I am done with this name. I won't be posting anymore on this company, and I won't have any more comments.
