Chicago-based former REIT buy-side analyst looking for mis-priced opportunities both long and short. Follow me on Twitter @SinglePlurality (I'm so profound!) where I remain critical of Twitter management despite my long position...what can I say?...old habits are hard to break.

Check out my YouTube channel where I give investing tips and have conversations with my viewers about where I see the investment landscape going in the future. The channel name is Alex Pitti.
I write a few articles per week which highlight my best ideas. I answer all comments on my articles in the first 2 days after they are published.
It seems that my readers enjoy my articles on social media companies such as Twitter, Facebook, and Google. I also do interviews such as when I interviewed the head scientists at SeaWorld.
I like to take the contrarian position on stocks. I tend to write about the stocks I own more often then the ones I don't take a position in. I usually own 5-10 stocks.
Follow me if you enjoy reading about any of these stocks or like to hear an original opinion backed by facts which cuts through the BS that sometimes exists in the mainstream financial press.
A retired hedge fund manager with over 20 years of experience in financial markets.
Audited returns before fees of my hedge fund beat the S&P 500 by over 9.5% per year for over ten years.
I have earned the CFA designation and am formerly a CPA.
I have around a few years of investing experience, both independently and at reputable alternative investment managers. I'm a devout believer in value investing and in the inefficiency of markets.
Inefficiencies arising from liquidity issues, institutional investor constraints, and negative market sentiment are of particular interest and can create large margins of safety. I strongly believes that investment ideas that invoke an immediate sense of revulsion offer superior risk-adjusted returns; the path away from the herd is typically the path of success.
All feedback is welcome and I hope to learn from the Seeking Alpha community.
I am a 15 year veteran of the buy-side, with over a decade of experience in Investment Management, at one time overseeing several billion dollars in hedge fund assets for institutional clients. Currently, I advise wealthy families on their investment portfolios as well as trade my own money.
Articles on Seeking Alpha are meant to be a snapshot of my views, but do not necessarily always reflect my portfolio. I also try to write on controversial and contrarian topics.
All money received from Seeking Alpha activities is currently being donated to various charities, including the World Food Program and UNICEF.
