You forgot pothole number four, perhaps the biggest uncertainty and potential risk of all: social upheaval if and when the Obama coalition of supporters comes apart, and the broad middle class loses hope for having the "American Dream" once again. What happens then? And will it be confined to the United States or is there a chance that the conditions that existed prior to the French Revolution expand globally? And if that happens, how would a French Revolution -- a revolution where the broad middle is integral to the fight -- how would that be waged during the age of the Internet? I think we have to start worrying that when comparing the current economic crisis to a relevant historic event, maybe we shouldn't be looking at the Depression but revolutions of the middle -- more on the subject here: tinyurl.com/abreou
