After I graduated with a Master in Finance, I lived in Chicago for 1 year. It was here I understood, thanks to some great people, the importance of valuation.
In addition, I have obtained CFA level 1 and have already started my own valuations.
My experience as an investor is minor. I started with a Forex when I was seventeen, where I lost some money. I did not know anything about valuation, research, or risks. It has been one year since I have started investing in Italian stocks.
I feel that my job here is to use my Italian background to evaluate Italian companies and bring interesting information from Italy to those who are looking to invest in European stocks.
Born and raised in the USA, graduated with a degree in Finance then worked at a multi-strategy global hedge fund for about 4 years analyzing stocks all over the world. In 2007 I left the USA and moved to China to study Chinese and start a business. Now, I am the CEO and Co-founder of eFin which provides wall street level research to main street investors via a proprietary algorithm. Our eFin scoe that takes into consideration hundreds of factors to provide the best period of time to make an investment in a stock.
Nevertheless, my experience working at the hedge fund and running my own business has improved vastly my investment making decisions. I believe Warren Buffett said it best “I am a better investor because I am a businessman and a better businessman because I am an investor”. I have had my share of busts and winners and have gotten wise enough to always look at both sides of every investment no matter how negative or optimistic the situation is.
Mark is in his third year of the Queen’s Commerce program, and is the co-founder and CEO of Queen’s Capital, a student run investment fund with over $100,000 in AUM. He has a keen interest in the financial markets and has traded American equities for the past five years.
Aside from investing, Mark enjoys spending his time traveling, studying history, learning languages, and playing the guitar.
I am undergraduate student majoring in biotechnology and minoring in finance as well business administration.
As a biotechnology major, I have excellent capacity to understand biotechnology related companies, especially the nature of their products. My financial background includes my role as co-portfolio director for the Financial Management Association - a student association.
For the most part, I am a self thought investor who thoroughly enjoy the adventure that is investing. I have thought myself from knowing nothing about finance to investing in the stock market and also trading commodity futures.
After two years of learning from the Seeking Alpha community, I think now is the time for me to do my part and contribute to this awesome community.
