I'm so bummed out that Prop 37 lost, the prop that would require GMO food labeling. Monsanto moolah won this round but I'm not giving up.

    • westcoastinvests: Too bad that they did not repeal the death penalty as well.

    • Perkins Cove: Sorry Doc, labels would have been common sense, and given people the ability to make a choice. You are right, don't give up.

    • Dr. Kris: west: Life in prison is much more expensive than killing them. It's a matter of economics. Sad but true.
      11/7/12
    • westcoastinvests: Actually Doc that's the problem you've got it backwards, killing them and the specialty housing is more expensive.
      11/7/12
    • Dr. Kris: GMO labeling is required by law in Europe and many other countries. We are, indeed, the lab rats.
      11/7/12
    • westcoastinvests: The death penalty actually costs tax payers more then life in prison, people don't understand this.

    • weed: I was for the death penalty before I lost all faith in government. Now I'm against, I guess that's progress.

    • gwinsto: decades of fighting court challenges on the public dime before the death penalty is actually carried out hardly makes it less expensive.
      11/7/12
    • gwinsto: Many innocents have been proven to be wrongly convicted and executed. Death penalty proponents might feel differently if it was them.
      11/7/12
    • westcoastinvests: Yes it is true death penalty is more expensive, if that fact was more widely known I believe it would have been repealed.
      11/7/12
    • Dr. Kris: I did read an article a while ago comparing the cost of both approaches. I'll see if I can dig it up,

    • Perkins Cove: So, a thread about Monsanto turns to one about death...?

    • westcoastinvests: sorry was just talking about props in CA that lost

    • BK0324: I am for labeling too but aren't you guys also for less regulation? Monsanto is one of biggest lobbies to keep government out.
      11/7/12
    • weed: BK, big gov enables the abuses of big corps. Labeling is perhaps the least intrusive form of regulation.
      11/7/12
    • BK0324: I'm sure Monsanto disagrees. As do most food and pharma producers.
