I liked the news of SkyPeople Fruit Juice today.

An alternative way of marketing to get brand awareness. Great news.

CNTF I have them but I don't like them anymore. The smart phone business on the lower end is a loss making business. People in emerging markets save for an iPhone, a Samsung, a Nokia, maybe a Blackberry............... others are fried. CNTF would be better off to get rid off that low-margin commodity business and put more effort into their gaming business.

Why Facebook IPO'd with such extreme valuations?

Everyone knows and knew investors are not going to pay P/E's of more than 20 in the current economic climate, but still Facebook thought they could get away with it. An IPO-price at around $15 was more appropriate.

  • Fortress Investment Group: Time To Storm The Castle [View article]
I am long Eurocastle Investment Ltd (AMS:ECT), that company is engaged in investing in, financing and management of German commercial properties. In addition, Eurocastle also invests in European real estate related debt. The company is externally managed by its manager, FIG LLC (the Manager), an affiliate of Fortress Investment Group LLC.

If you look to the chart you can see it was a lousy investment and didn't recoup any losses. So no Fortress for me.....hahaha.....

  • Mixed Results In The B2C Market In China [View article]
360buy doesn't have a listing yet so I skipped that one. Limited (HKG:1688) owner of Taoboa could be an opportunity, but is listed in Hong Kong.

But it's true that both are dominant, about half of B2C transactions currently take place on Taobao Mall, or Tmall, another Alibaba property.

Together, Taobao and Tmall were responsible for 81% of online transactions by dollar amount in 2010. Forty-eight thousand products were sold per minute on Taobao that year, more than the number sold by China’s top five brick-and-mortar retailers combined.

P/E of Alibaba is more than 30, but it's a dominant player.

  • Hints Of A Market Collapse In The Western World [View article]
hahaha..........thanks God I don't have a crystal ball. Fortunately I created some controversy with this article. A market collapse could be possible because of the governmental debt problems all over the Western world. But there is hardly an alternative to put your money, so investing in dividend stocks is not a bad strategy at all.

Two demographic trends are driving investor appetite for income: much higher life expectancies and an explosion in the number of pensioners around the world.

The global retirement population will almost triple to 2 billion by 2050, according to a UN estimate. Numbers vary by region, with an expected doubling in the U.S. and Canada to 125 million retirees and a 50% increase in Europe to 236 million.

People are living much longer, requiring income streams that can support them for longer periods of time.

Interest from cash and low-yielding bonds alone is unlikely to pay for retirement, especially when you take into account inflation.

  • U.S.-Listed China Stocks: A Mixed Bag Of Results, But Trading Opportunities Still Exist [View article]
The fact is that plastics gain further importance in Chinese national life. Both consumers and industrial users expand their demand for plastics, both in terms of quantity and quality.

This decade is a crucial period for the Chinese plastics industry in meeting this demand. At the same time, the rapidly increasing waste burden of plastics has to be minimized.

This requires intense efforts on the part of the formal and informal waste management sectors as well as the plastics recycling industry. The Chinese recycling sector can reduce the burden of solid waste that's why I think Guanwei could be a great play especially if they also going to switch to domestic waste in the future.

Guanwei is a sustainability play for the long run. That's why I think it's a worthy investment.

  • Tianli Agritech - A Significantly Undervalued And Oversold Stock [View article]
Most US-listed Chinese companies have problems regarding dividend payments.

We have never declared or paid any cash dividends on our common shares. We anticipate that we will retain any earnings to support operations and to finance the growth and development of our business. Therefore, we do not expect to pay cash dividends in the foreseeable future. Any future determination relating to our dividend policy will be made at the discretion of our Board of Directors and will depend on a number of factors, including future earnings, capital requirements, financial conditions and future prospects and other factors the Board of Directors may deem relevant.

If we determine to pay dividends on any of our common shares in the future, as a holding company, we will be dependent on receipt of funds from WFOE, which in turn would be dependent on the receipt of funds from our variable interest entity, Fengze. Payments of dividends by WFOE to our Company are subject to laws and regulations in the PRC including the requirement that foreign invested enterprises may only buy, sell and/or remit foreign currencies at those banks authorized to conduct foreign exchange business. Further, such remittances would require WFOE to provide an application for remittance that includes, in addition to the application form, a foreign registration certificate, board resolution, capital verification report, audit report on profit and stock bonuses, and a tax certificate. There are no such similar foreign exchange restrictions in the British Virgin Islands.
