  • Is Gold Losing Its Luster? [View article]
The pros and cons for gold make all sense. Gold is an alternative to paper money. So if all the currencies in the world are worthless if government debt is increasing even more the coming periods we always have gold. So yes gold could be a great investment, but to predict that the gold price goes to $ 2000, $ 3000 in the short run..........mmmmmmmm I don't believe it.

  • Is Gold Losing Its Luster? [View article]
It is interesting that the amount of gold that is claimed by the U.S. government today is similar to the amount in the 1930's, but that the amount of currency (USD) is now 100 times as large. If there were a need to go back to gold at the similar ratio of the 1930's, this historical precedent might indicate a price of 100 times as high as then, or $ 3.500 per ounce.

    Correction:
Taking inflation into account, gold should now be trading at $2,163.62 to match its previous high. Anyone who bought gold at its historic peak in 1980 is suffering a $1,002 loss three decades later on every ounce of gold purchased at that time.

ooh by the way ........I don't invest in gold, I am a firm believer in China stocks.

The only thing I hate is that the so-called gold believers think it is the only way up. Everybody knows that gold is one of the worst investments over the last 40 years. Of course, past performance, as the say, is no guarantee of future results. So there is still hope for the believers in gold.

That's true, but they hardly have competition. They are the number one in women's condoms and produce the FC2 Female Condom®. This is the only available FDA-approved product that offers dual protection against sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS, and unintended pregnancy.

Pure market manipulation what happened yesterday. Great results, great future but the stock price went to hell the first hour of trading. I guess short sellers were covering their position or HFT nerds were manipulating the market.

I have never seen something so irrational this year. So let's see what the rest of the year brings on the stock market. Maybe even more irrational behavior .................

  • Is Xinyuan Real Estate Co. Too Good To Be True? [View article]
Undervaluation is a great catalyst for MBO's. Right now this is frequently happening in the US-listed China space. Short sellers have driven stock prices to absurd levels, because they think all US-listed China stocks are frauds.

Unfair for companies that are legitimate, but that's how US capital markets react to a handful of shady China fraud companies.
