I am a mechanical engineer full time and a self-taught value investor in my spare time (another full time job). My portfolio is highly concentrated in value stocks with a high margin of safety, or cash, but a small portion of my portfolio is also positioned in high impact positive black swan stocks which I believe offer a favorable risk/reward ratio.
I'm a 26-year-old retiree, enjoying some time to pursue passion projects after hustling with 18-20 hour workdays for years. After having a medical scare last year that had me hospitalized, I decided it was time to sell the business and focus more on putting my money to work for me rather than the other way around.
I now spend most of my time reading, writing, and enjoying life.
Retired. Professional backgrounds in legal, accounting and general contracting. Strongly entreprenurial................many small businesses. Top 100 in some sectors as to national size ranking. Macro oriented Former CEO & Chairman of Board. Emphasis Energy, Health Care, Agriculture. Next 10 yrs future value..Very blessed.
My background is owning and operating my own small businesses for 30+ years. I had some exposure to commercial banking along the way and have been planning my retirement for the past 40 years.
I achieved retirement 10 years ago, but feel it would be a terrible mistake to discontinue the planning. To me it is a permanent requirement but not a particularly time consuming one. Plus, I enjoy it.
I am comfortable reading and interpreting financial statements but make no claim to expertise.
I have no formal financial planning background. The views I present are what I believe, and I present them in the hope they help others form their own views.
